This "artistic collaboration" began with a partnership between drummer Steve Baker and guitarist/ bassist Adam Banaskevicz, working together in the studio combining their skills as live musicians and electronic music programmers.
The sound they created was an experimental mix of diverse influences - elements of jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop to name but a few.

    Adam and Steve soon realised that the music had been created in the restrictive forum of the recording studio environment, and cried out for the rawness and energy of live performance. To accomplish this required the addition of several talented live musicians to bring their own interpretations and vibrancy to the sound:

    Simon Farrow utilises a plethora of exotic drums and percussive instruments, injecting his own quirky brand of traditional (Latin, Eastern) and contemporary rhythms into the band's sound.
Singer/ songwriter Fayann Smith brings an unconventional voice, a dynamic vocal range and intelligent, engaging lyrics to the band, along with a captivating and uncompromising stage persona.
The backbone of their sound comes from vintage keyboard connoisseur Matt Willshaw, contributing a high-energy cocktail of distinctive jazz and funk flavours. Multi-instrumentalists Adam and Richard Day co-handle bass and guitars, while the final member to join was hip-hop turntablist Kam. Another accomplished musician, Kam transfers his understanding of melody and rhythm seamlessly to the vinyl arena.
    Finally, the Urban Zen Corporation promise "....a dynamic and original set with an infectious energy and accessible funky vibe that will have the audience enthralled..."
