Vivienne BrooksParent married (mother’s name Alice Constance Braham) in Liverpool c1926. Vivienne, also known as Violet, was born in Sept 1927. She was a GI bride, marrying a Jewish man called Gerry (surname unknown) we think in New York and believe they have two sons. Also believe they may also have owned a property in Florida. My father John William Braham was her mother’s younger brother by two years. I was an only child. Born Joyce (now known as Joy) in May 1941. We lived at 60 Faulkner Street, Liverpool.I married Morley Myers, he was international sports editor for UPI for 23 years until 1998) in London in 1962. We have three children and seven grandchildren. I always wondered what my cousin’s life was like in the USA. My father’s older sister, Mary, once told me that Vivienne came back for a visit in the 50s but I don’t remember it. If anyone has any information to help us with our family tree I would like to hear. My mother died in 1982 and I am trying to connect with her children from the previous marriage due to health concerns.My mother never became a U.S. citizen and always remained British subject. Olive Howden Hanley , (1915/1988) who lived in Watford,Hertfordshire, England during WWII about 1944/45. She had a child named Linda. Linda's father was named Harry ?, I believed, he was killed in 1944/5. I cannot trace a birth certificate for Linda, who was born in 1945. She was sent to USA probably to Harry`s parents. Olive married in 1946 and later had a foster son - now 55 years. He has seen a picture of Linda, aged about 8, at a wedding. I realize this has very limited information as I do not know his surname but it seems surprising that a girl was taken from a mother and sent to USA. Any information about Linda would be appreciated. Mary met him when he was stationed in Aukland but did not marry. They had a child who would be in their mid 60’s. My father was an American Coastguard from WWII. Rose was born Rosita Mary Collell 1920 or 1922 in Western Australia. She married Kenneth A. Wack in Perth W.A 1942. Kenneth was an American sailor. They returned to America soon after, and we believe that a son was born (??Geoffry/Jeffery) who would be approx 60 yrs old now. There could possibly have been more children. Rose wrote to her mother commenting that she was feeling very depressed and homesick for her family in Australia...a sister, brother, 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers. We are led to believe she has since passed away as did Kenneth Wack (in San Diego, 1996). We are the nieces of Rose and would dearly like to make contact with any of her family as we feel sure they would be interested to learn more about their Australian Roots. We have reason to believe that in 1946 they arrived via the Vulcania to stay in Lowell MA with the Rallis family. 1947 she left with the child assumed to return to UK. Our last name is Chabot (Shepard) is the English version, so either last name should be listed. I know that she lived in London because she always talked about the bombing in London and how scared she was, and was always frightened by loud noises as a result. Joyce Chabot Sergeant Mike of the 28th Infantry Div. Stationed in the UK, where are you?Trying to locate a WW2 GI Sergeant called Mike, he was in the 28th Infantry Div. Possibly from Texas. I know that this information is very limited but I have to try, as he has a son in the UK who is my best friend called Bill, it appears that Sergeant Mike, and my friends mother during 1944 had a relationship and this resulted in Bill being born. Bill is in his 60's and desperate to know who his real father is as he would like to let his grandchildren know of his family History. I have tried several sources but had no luck. There could not have been that many sergeants in the 28th Infantry Div. called Mike, is there any way that you can help me locate him. They had a daughter Shirley A. and all three left for the United States on March 26th 1946 on the SS Washington from Southampton, England. Doreen Emily Long and Joe Brandels were married in the late autumn of 1944 in Halstead, Essex and Shirley was born the following May. After they sailed for New York they lost all touch with the Long family in the UK. If anyone knows what happened to the Brandels family after 2th March, 1946 we would be grateful if they could get in touch. In July 1973 she was living in Gulfport Miss. That is the last Serena ever heard from her sister. Serena did get a letter from George Wargo saying they had divorced however. Her name is Susanne.All the info I have is: * Henry was a US soldier in WW2 * He's from California * Have 3 daughters named Gloria, Natalie and don't know the name of the third * At some point during the war he was in the city of Sulmona, Italy * In Sulmona that's where my grandparents Domenico and Anna helped Henry escape from the Germans * Henry named his daughter Natalie after my aunt Natalina, who is now in Australia. Peggy married Frank SWINHEART, a US army sargeant, in England in 1945 and went to California in 1946.Peggy was in the WRNS, stationed in Chatham and Chelsea during the second world war. She was a telephonist. Her family came from Cardiff. My mother, Jean Barden, was a coder in the WRNS at Chatham when she met Peggy. Peggy stayed with my mother and grandmother in Southampton the night before she left for America. My mother never heard from her again and would love to know what happened to her. She went from Middlesbrough, England in about 1947 ( my mother told me that I was just a baby - born July 1947) to New York to be reunited with her wartime sweetheart, Lennie Thomas. She had met Lennie when he was in England with the U.S. Army. Dot (Doreen) was a very good dancer/acrobat and was a professional entertainer during some or all of the war. I believe that she lived in Brooklyn and had 5 children. Lennie died at a relatively young age and contact between my mother and her sister ultimately was lost.
