Vivienne Brooks
Parent married (mother’s name Alice Constance Braham) in Liverpool c1926. Vivienne, also known as
Violet, was born in Sept 1927. She was a GI bride, marrying a Jewish man called Gerry (surname unknown) we think in New York and believe they have two sons. Also believe they may also have owned a property in Florida.
My father John William Braham was her mother’s younger brother by two years.
I was an only child. Born Joyce (now known as Joy) in May 1941. We lived at 60 Faulkner Street,
Liverpool.
I married Morley Myers, he was international sports editor for UPI for 23 years until 1998) in London in 1962. We have three children and seven grandchildren. I always wondered what my cousin’s life was like in the USA. My father’s older sister, Mary, once told me that Vivienne came back for a visit in the 50s but I don’t remember it.
If anyone has any information to help us with our family tree I would like to hear.

Erika Steckermayer
I am seeking any information on Erika Steckermayer. It is believed that she is from Austria and I know she came as a war bride. She married my father’s brother Wesley Dorman Robison of Brady, Texas. Erika would have had two very young daughters when she came to the US. One Ellen and Patricia.
Uncle D as he was known passed away in 1959. Erika remarried and had one son Wylie John ?. She divorced and married again having another daughter. The last known residence was in Florida (Tampa – I think) as a nurse. It has been 40 years since I have seen her or known anything of her.

My mother Sadie Ogilvie born in Leeds on October 9, 1922. I believe she married a United States serviceman with the last name (Flaherty) I believe she had two children by this man during the war and traveled with the children on the Queen Mary to the United States. My mother never became a U.S. citizen and always remained British subject.
Any assistance in how I might be able to obtain further information would be greatly appreciated.

Olive Howden Hanley
Child born in England
I refer to your website re GI Brides and wonder if you could help me find my half-sister. Olive Howden Hanley , (1915/1988) who lived in Watford,Hertfordshire, England during WWII about 1944/45. She had a child named Linda. Linda's father was named Harry ?, I believed, he was killed in 1944/5. I cannot trace a birth certificate
for Linda, who was born in 1945. She was sent to USA probably to Harry`s parents. Olive married in 1946 and later had a foster son - now 55 years. He has seen a picture of Linda, aged about 8, at a wedding. I realize this has very limited information as I do not know his surname but it seems surprising that a girl was taken from a mother
and sent to USA. Any information about Linda would be appreciated. Please get in touch with me.

Rose was born Rosita Mary Collell 1920 or 1922 in Western Australia. She married Kenneth A. Wack in Perth W.A 1942. Kenneth was an American sailor. They returned to America soon after, and we believe that a son was born (??Geoffry/Jeffery) who would be approx 60 yrs old now. There could possibly have been more children. Rose wrote to her mother commenting that she was feeling very depressed and homesick for her family in Australia...a sister, brother, 2 half sisters and 2 half brothers. We are led to believe she has since passed away as did Kenneth Wack (in San Diego, 1996). We are the nieces of Rose and would dearly like to make contact with any of her family as we feel sure they would be interested to learn more about their Australian Roots.

They lived with me and my family in Charlton , New York in the early 1950’s. Our last name is Chabot (Shepard) is the English version, so either last name should be listed.

Sergeant Mike of the 28th Infantry Div. Stationed in the UK, where are you?
Trying to locate a WW2 GI Sergeant called Mike, he was in the 28th Infantry Div. Possibly from Texas. I know that this information is very limited but I have to try, as he has a son in the UK who is my best friend called Bill, it appears that Sergeant Mike, and my friends mother during 1944 had a relationship and this resulted in Bill being born. Bill is in his 60's and desperate to know who his real father is as he would like to let his grandchildren know of his family History. I have tried several sources but had no luck. There could not have been that many sergeants in the 28th Infantry Div. called Mike, is there any way that you can help me locate him. Mike would be very old now or possibly passed on But it would still be nice for Bill to know of his Roots. If you can help in any way it would be really appreciated Regards Ken Jenkins in the UK

FOUND:
Jean Elizabeth (Foulds) Roszelle
I'm searching for my counsin, Jean Elizabeth FOULDS of Cowley, Oxford, England who married Richard Delaney ROSZELLE of Searne Camp, Launcester, Cornwall, England, who was No.34037035, a Cpl. Tech. in the U.S. Army. Sadly, her husband, Richard, was killed in an industrial accident only a few years after they returned to the States.
They had a son in England, Martin ROSZELLE, but he has since died. They also had another son, Richard, at Bridgeport, who is believed to be still living.
Because Jean was a very young widow, she likely married again, so could have another last name. I am anxious to find her, or her children, not only to be in contact with them, but to pass on family items from when Jean was a young lady. I now live in Canada, so could easily visit them.

Cecily Holmes (nee Hutton)
I am writing on behalf of a friend from Gloucestershire, who is trying to trace her husband John's maternal aunt, Cecily Hutton, who married an American soldier - Lyle Holmes and went to live with him after WWII in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and apparently afterwards in Chicago, Illinois. Cecily was born in Surrey in the early 1920's, and lost touch with her sister after moving to the U.S. Her nephew John Ridley would very much like to get in touch with her if at all possible. Unfortunately the surname Holmes is very common and without other precise information, it is not possible to find out where exactly they are (if indeed, they are still alive).

Missing - Marjorie Doreen Krochel
Serena Ramsey is trying to locate her sister (Marjorie Doreen Krochel) who married an American in the USAF in the early 40's.
Doreen left Adelaide in the 1946 after she married a US soldier called Chuck Haynes. She had a son John from this marriage. They divorced and she remarried a George Wargo who was also in the USAF (he also served in Vietnam). They had two sons, David and Jamie. In July 1973 she was living in Gulfport Miss. That is the last Serena ever heard from her sister. Serena did get a letter from George Wargo saying they had divorced however. She is 76 years of age in July. Her 4 sisters, Serena, Ileana, Lora and Corris in Australia have been hoping to hear from her for the past 30 years and desparate to find her.

Auntie Dot Meredith Thomas
I am trying to track down my aunt Dot (Doreen) who was originally Doreen Meredith. She went from Middlesbrough, England in about 1947 ( my mother told me that I was just a baby - born July 1947) to New York to be reunited with her wartime sweetheart, Lennie Thomas. She had met Lennie when he was in England with the U.S. Army.
Dot (Doreen) was a very good dancer/acrobat and was a professional entertainer during some or all of the war.
I believe that she lived in Brooklyn and had 5 children. Lennie died at a relatively young age and contact between my mother and her sister ultimately was lost.
If anyone can help me I would be very grateful.
