British War Bride Joins Husband
OGDENSBURG – A British war bride and her year-old son have finally joined the husband and father, Maurice H. Jacques of this city after months of separation, Mrs. Jacques and son arrived in Ogdensuburg yesterday from Smallthorne, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
On her arrival here she saw her husband for the first time since he had enjoyed a brief foulough in August of 1945. There were married in England in February, 1944.
Mr. Jacques enlisted in the Army Signal Corps in April, 1942, transferring as a first sergeant to the Air Corps after arriving in England. He was returned to America and honorably discharged Dec. 27, last. His wife remained in England pending arrangements for legal entry to this country.
