The 4 m Telescope, built in 1973, is the biggest optical telescope on Kitt Peak. The building's viewing gallery provides a great view of both the surrounding mountain and the observatory's main complex (the picture above has been taken from there).

The 2.1 m telescope was built in 1964. Like the 4 m telescope, it can be visited both on self-guided tours and a daily guided tour. On the self-guided tour, however, the visitor has no access to the actual telescope but is limited to the building's viewing gallery.
