The exhibit features, of course, a lot of hardware associated with nuclear warfare, including replicas of atomic bombs.
A lot of information is provided about the only A - bombs ever used in war,
Little Boy
(August 6,1945, Hiroshima) and
Fat Man
(August 9, 1945, Nagasaki). Of course, you won't find anything about the state of the art weapons currently used by the U S
armed forces. After all, this is a museum and therefore devoted to displaying things from the past rather than
reveiling confidential up-to-date facts.
The outdoor exhibit contains some missiles which were designed to carry nuclear warheads. A
Titan II
lies on the ground, its stages are seperated. This provides detailed
views at some details of the missile.
Among the other missiles, a
Minute Man,
which is considerably smaller than a Titan II, is on display. Finally, some airplanes wich were able to carry atomic bombs are
also part of the exhibit.
