What
is a Torero? When our beloved Father Buddy was selecting a mascot
he wanted to find something that symbolized Grace and power, a gallant
warrior and a connection
with Mexico with whom San Diego has had an honored tradition. As
a result the Torero became San Diegos mascot. The Torero is
the name for all the of fighters in the bull ring. Why
all the blue? Sky blue is the color of the Toreros because the sky
will be the last thing Torero opponents will see.
What
does it mean to be a Torero?

The
Torero lacrosse team is built on Ten Foundations.
Pride: What no one can ever take from you.
Commitment: Doing the hard right over the easy wrong.
Respect: What you can carry with you when all else is gone.
Pain: An illusion.
Integrity: The proof of manhood.
Discipline: Because you can do a thing does not mean that
you must do that thing.
Honor: What no one can give or take away from you.
Courage: To be afraid, but to go anyway.
Dedication: To push yourself 2 feet when you only have 1
left in you.
Team: To achieve synergy
San
Diego Mens Lacrosse has been competing for 17 years. In that
time the Toreros have set the standard for Lacrosse in Southern
California, with an overall record of 138-68. As a member of the
West Coast Lacrosse League San Diego has claimed Division Titles
in 1998 and 1999, as well as 7 sectional titles. We have produced
49 WCLL All-Stars, 1 USLIA All-Stars, and 1 USILA All-Star.
San
Diego is a family, a brotherhood, a team in the greatest sense of
the word. At San Diego we work together. We have an ethic built
on hard work and respect. Players who desire the challenge to push
themselves to their limits. Players who are not afraid to find out
how good they are. At San Diego we are trying to accomplish something
great. To achieve together what no one player can achieve alone.
Dont accept the easy road. At San Diego you arrive a boy but
you will leave a man. If you have the heart of a warrior, if you
have the desire of a winner, if you have the courage to take the
next step, WE WANT YOU!
