1/17/04: Month 3 post-accutane
It's been a little over 3 months since the end of Accutane and so far, things have been good.
I haven't had a big zit for a while. YES!!!! But I still have tons of red marks and some pitted scars. I'm using Mederma for those, but I'm really lazy about using it (instead of using it 4 times a day as directed, I only use it about once or twice a day). I am also doing non-ablative laser treatment for the pitted scars. (Seriously, PLEASE DON'T PICK YOUR ZITS, YOU'LL REGRET IT.)
About the laser treatment: I've done a total of 2 out of 6 treatments so far. And yes, it's starting to bother me; I'm not exactly thrilled about the so-called "pin-pricking" sensation on my face. It's really annoying and a bit painful. But then again, the procedure takes about 10 minutes totally. So, 10 minutes each month isn't really that bad, right? So, I'm going to stick it out.....
So, I'm still doing the same thing:
Morning:
1. Wash with Triaz
2. Apply Mederma.Afternoon:
1. Apply MedermaNight:
1. Wash with Triaz
2. Apply Klaron
3. Take Vitamins C and Biotin (I ran out of Vitamin E)
4. (I find that scrubbing my face with a clean face towel at night works as a great exfoliant. Please don't do this when you have active zits. I really only have red marks and scars now, so that's why I'm doing it, but I would NEVER dream of scrubbing my face with a face towel when I have active zits.)About my hair: The shedding is slowing down! WOOOPPPPIIIEEEE!!!!!!!! YES! YES!! YES!!! I wash my hair about every 2 to 3 days now. I'm not as afraid of the shower and the amount of hairloss after a hair wash is starting to look more normal. However, I still don't like it when I comb my hair after I wash it because quite a bit of hair falls out at that time. It's not an alarming amount, but I still don't like it.
Ok, we'll see what happens next month.
