Sun. 2/15/04: Month 4 post-accutane

My derma is a moron. Last Friday, I went to get my 3rd laser treatment for scars and he told me that it doesn't treat pitted scars; it only treats the red marks that are caused by the scars. What a f*cking moron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm out $750 now. Thank goodness I talked to him on my 3rd visit and not on my 6th visit, or else I'll be out thousands of dollars!!!

So, don't bother with non-ablative laser if you want to get rid of scars. He said the only thing is CO2 laser, which is ablative. I don't trust him anymore, so I'm sure there are other things out there for scars. For a doctor and a phd, he sure doesn't seem to know a lot. Sometimes, I feel that I know more than him. What a dumbass!

Ok, update:

My hair is FINE...YAY!!!!! I just wash it everyday with Pantene Pro-V now. I don't use Nioxin or take Biotin anymore.

My red marks have faded a bit. I stopped using Mederma because I can't use it under makeup and at night, I have to put on lotion to sleep to prevent dryness. (Makeup looks like crap over dry skin.)

I also stopped using Klaron, but only because I don't break out much anymore. I still get small pimples here and there. This month, I've had two tiny ones on my face, but they went away quickly. I don't even do anything to them. I even put lotion directly on them and it's fine. (I didn't realize how dry my face was until I started using makeup; after I put on the foundation, I could see many dry patches on my face--it looked horrible!)

However, I recently bought Vita-K Solution for scars and bruises...and we'll see how that works. I'm going to use it in place of the Cetaphil lotion at night.

So, here's my regimen:

Morning:
1. Wash with Triaz
2. Lotion with Purpose SPF 15
3. Makeup (Sheer Cover)

Night:
1. Take off Makeup with L'oreal Makeup Remover
2. Wash with Triaz
3. Apply Vita-K creme
4. Take Vitamin C (500mg) and E (400iu)
