Please make sure your character's age fits. All new players start at the rank of ensign, Lt. JG, or Lieutenant, whichever fits better. With that in mind you should understand that most characters will be in their early 20's, getting their first assignment. If you want your character to be a different age than that then you must write why in your application. Civilians, ambassadors, and other positions are more flexible with respect to age.

If you are new to PBEM, then you should be a young character, early 20's.

A writing style will help us to determine your rank and how well you will fit in here. We don't take spelling and grammar into account too much, although please just try your best. We want a creative sample, and it can be about your character doing something important. Consider this the Academy, you need to pass to enter Starfleet, or retake it. It should be noted that we write in third person past tense. For example: Rather than writing "I hear the door chime. I go to the door." you should write something like "He heard the door chime and went to the door."
