Tour of the ship

Welcome to the ship. Here you can see the main parts of the ship..

Bridge

The nerve centre of the Courage, the bridge is where everything is controlled, from weapons to propulsion. A modified version of the Sovereign class starship, it has a place for just about every senior officer. The three centre chairs are reserved for Admiral Zaa, Captain Savok and Counsellor McKensie. In front of the centre seat is the Helm station. For the first time in Starfleet, the ship requires two pilots, one for the main duties, such as setting courses and flying the ship, and the second officer maintains the deflector field which allows the Courage to have such free movement

Behind the command centre is the Strategic Operation's Officer's station. Because of the role he plays, his station is right by the Captain's

At the rear of the bridge is the Security/Tactical Station. From here, the weapon's are fired, shields raised, and all other tactical and security issues are dealt from here, at least by the bridge officer. There is always an open link with the Security Office, however

The station next to Captain Savok's chair is the science station, where scans of the planet are analysed briefly for Admiral Zaa

Next to Counsellor McKensie's chair is the Op's Station, where all communications and scans are handled.

Next to the Op's station is the Intel station. The chief Intel officer, or whichever Intel officer has bridge duty, keeps a constant communication link to the Intel office, and is on hand to provide support and advice when needed

Finally, next to the Science station is the engineering station. The CEO, Alex Greystone, is almost never seen here, so one of his hand selected engineers will always be here, relaying information from Alex.

Ready Room

When Admiral Zaa wants a few moments away from bridge life, or needs to speak to someone in private, he can meet with them here, in a relaxed environment, with a replicator for all food and drink requirements

Captain Savok's Office

On occasion, Captain Savok will need to have a meeting of his own, and somewhere to do paperwork, so he can use his own office for this. It even has a bed in a second room, and washroom, in case he needs to pull an all nighter.

Astrometrics

Astrometrics is used to check a large portion of space around the Courage, using all forms of scanning devices, including the brand new hyperspace sensors, as designed by Lt. Tom Halkrat of Starfleet.

Briefing Room

This room has a clear purpose: For staff meetings, and other formal meetings.

Main Engineering

Where most Bridge officers will say that the bridge is the heart of any ship, the Engineers will always correct that misconception. The image above only shows a small portion of main engineering, the traditional warp core, and the new Quantum Slipstream drive. The other power centre's are classified, and can't be shown here.

Chief Engineer's Office

Perhaps one of the most sought out offices, the CEO has enough room for his techical journals, a replicator for food and drink, and even a small holo lab to help him create new technologies, or sometimes to make a bed for him to sleep on when he is forced to stay in engineering.

Sickbay

The one area of the ship that everyone hopes is never needed, but always is, the newest Sickbay is larger than others have been, since it is a larger vessel. There is also an office for the Chief Medical Officer through the door on the far left.

Chief Medical Officer's Office

The CMO can have time to think here, or to do tests on a patient, or perform surgery in a quiet area if needed. He can also use the biobed to sleep on if he needs to.

Counsellor's Office

Megan McKensie has a nice simple office, with a chair for some of her patients, and a bed for others, whichever is the preferred choice for both patient and counsellor, as some patients prefer to be lying down when they discuss their problems.

Security/Tactical Area

The security area is used by the Security/Tactical chief to maintain order on the ship. Sometimes used to discuss tactical battles in the secondary briefing room, it is the key to all security activities on the ship, and always has an open comm. link with the bridge.

Science Lab

This is where all new experiments are done, where new breakthrough's in chemicals, and science, are made. Also used for in depth analysis's of new creatures and life forms, the science lab is a key part of any starship.

Science Chief's Office

The chief Science Officer uses their office for a little quiet time, paperwork and important meetings, and one on one sessions with the science officers on the ship for reviews and such. Fitted with a replicator for food and drink.

Intel Command

The key to all intel operations on the USS Courage, the Intel Command department can liase with Starfleet Intelligence, and perform operations away from the bridge, when such an operation is classified. It has a secure communication's protocol that not even the CO can access, unless either the Chief Intel officer gives permission, or if they die. Also, only authorised personnel are admitted into the department, since both a retina scan, DNA scan and keycode are all required for entry. It also has a briefing area exactly like the Security briefing area, for all Intel meetings.

Crash and Burn

A part of the civilian area, the Crash and Burn is used for all recreational activities, drinks, fun and games, and much more besides. Privately run, it does have to adapt to Starfleet protocols, but often that rule is overlooked since the bartender is well liked amongst the crew, and even gets away with serving real alcohol.

Mess Hall

When the crew want a quiet meal, or just a private place to think, they come here to relax, although many do prefer the Crash and Burn.

Shuttlebay

The shuttles are kept here, although they are kept in a storage area below the shuttlebay when not in use. When a shuttle is needed, it is beamed to the shuttlebay for prelaunch checks. After the shuttle is returned and the crew disembarked, it is scanned thouroughly for life forms, and then beamed back to storage.

Transporter room

No explanation is needed, as it is obvious what this is used for.
