Character Appearance: |
Technically, Vanquish can access her own large data banks of information and as a hologram can appear any where onboard ship looking like anything she wants. She can even turn up in more than one place at once. However, normally, Vanquish takes the form of Human looking female of about average height and atheletic slim build. She has pleasing features, a pleasant smile that can put people to ease and brilliant blue eyes. Her hair, which is often worn long and tied back, is coloured cheastnut brown, though she sometimes adopts different styles for it at times. Her normal dress code is that of Starfleet Uniform (red) but without any rank markings, though again, this sometimes changes.

Character Personality: |
Vanquish is both very charming and diplomatic. She had some of the best personality program's written into her sub-routines. However, despite all this, Vanquish still has a lot to learn. She considers the ship to be hers to roam and often needs to be reminded about things like privacy. She can also get very protective over things (sometimes a little too over protective). Namely at present, this includes the ship itself, her Captain and Professor Arcanis from the Daystrom Institute who with Captain Rees helped construct her.

Character History: |
Development in the field of Artificial Sentient life forms and holograms has come a long way in the last few years in the Federation. Thanks to the works of people like Professor Zimmerman (who designed most of the EMH program's as well as a few other types) along with knowledge provided by the USS Enterprise crew from their crew man, Lieutenant Commander Data, it was only time before the Federation set out to create their own artificial sentient life form from scratch.
With the birth of the Vanquish (starship) project, one of the many new ideas to be put into action was to develop a fully sentient life form that would have complete awareness of the ship it was built into. Essentially, the ships computer would be sentient in off it's own accord. This sparked debates across the Federation about the ethics of it and whether it was wise to trust a sentient vessel considering the resources poured into constructing a starfleet vessel. However, the debate ended with Professor Arcanis of the Daystrom Institute being given the go ahead to develop the first sentient ship computer to be installed into the USS Vanquish.
Gathering together data and research from numerous sources (including Professor Zimmerman's work, the notes made by the Enterprise crew on Lieutenant Commander Data, research from the EMH unit from the USS Voyager, the data cube containing the sentient program Morachi and more), Professor Arcanis began to construct the sub-routines for the program that would simply called Vanquish. Later into the project, Captain Richard Rees assisted in defining the persona of Vanquish and the Captain and Professor were the two main sources for her development.
In 2378, Vanquish's routines were considered ready for activation, even though the actual USS Vanquish was still under construction at San Francisco's fleetyards in orbit of Earth. She was activated in the holo suites of Daystrom Institute and Professor Arcanis and Captain Rees worked daily with Vanquish herself to refine her core programming and sub-rountines.
Later in the same year, the USS Vanquish's computer core was fully constructed along with the internal holo-matrix systems that ran throughout the entire ship and Vanquish was transferred onboard. From then on until the launch of the USS Vanquish, she worked beside the engineers to help complete the vessel.
It is also worth noting that the holocrew are also under direct control of Vanquish. The USS Vanquish can produce upto 150 holographic crew members to perform various duties from security to engineering. Though nothing more than mere automaton's themselves, they are attached to main computer core of the USS Vanquish and thus Vanquish herself. Generally, she is aware of everything her holocrew do and see and if necessary can guide them as well in their duties.
