Zxyana was found on an interplanetary transport ship on route to Bajor at the age of eighteen moths by a Bajoran tramp, called Trayaz, and for the first ten years of her life she lived on Bajor as a tramp and beggar. Trayaz was a major father figure in Zxyana’s life and taught her how to “survive”, but sadly he was arrested for theft in 2365 leaving Zxyana to the Bajoran authorities.

After much research on the eleven-year-old, they discovered that Zxyana was snatched from a hospital on Talesan VI after her mother, a Bajoran, had died in labour. Sadly her father, a Human, hadn’t been seen for many years, although reports claimed he had been sent to an asylum on Conbula IX after the trauma of loosing his wife and child. It was here that Zxyana discovered something very unique about her medical makeup. It seems that something in the mixture of her father’s Human blood and her mother’s Bajoran blood had triggered a chemical reaction, thus giving Zxyana a strong telepathic capability.

Subsequently, Zxyana was put in a Bajoran orphanage and until the age of sixteen was very rebellious, never staying with one family for long. However, in 2370 she was put onto a course run by the Starfleet Academy for such youths, and spent two years learning basic combat and technical skills.

Due to her amazing abilities Starfleet entered her into their officers course at the age of eighteen where she continued to excel. It was evident the Zxyana had somewhat of a flare for medicine, and she graduated with full honours in 2376. The first 2 years of her medical courier Zxyana worked on a space station tending to the casualties of battle etc.
