Wish Drama Album

Translation by Tara (usyaginopeiji)
Track 3: 2nd Wish: Yume no Ato ni 1

Translator comments: Here is where we get into the original stuff that wasnft in the manga. From context, we can assume that this story takes place somewhere after the end of volume 2 when Hotaru dies, but before the part of volume 3 when Touki takes Kohaku back to heaven. I apologize in advance for all the gKohaku looks happyh, gKohaku seems happyh, gKohaku is happily____h. The script really is that redundant.

[Indicates a characterfs thoughts]

*Indicates exposition and character action*

-Indicates a change of setting-

2nd Wish: After the Dream 1

-Shuuichiroufs house-

*Kohaku is sweeping in the garden while humming to himself. It seems as though he is having fun.*

Kohaku: Yay! Ifm all done!

*He flies over to Shuuichirou, who is looking after the trees.*

Kohaku: Shuuichirou-saaaaan!

*Shuuichirou notices Kohaku and looks up.*

Shuuichirou: Morning.

Kohaku: Good morning!

*Kohaku appears to be happy.*

Kohaku: I finished sweeping the garden!

Shuuichirou: Good job.

*He pats Kohaku on the head.*

Kohaku: Waaaa!

*Kohaku is elated.*

Hisui: Shuuichirou-san.

*From the kitchen emerges the voice of the former archangel Hisui. He looks into the garden at Shuuichirou and Kohaku.*

Hisui: Shuuichirou-san, Ifve finished making breakfast.

Shuuichirou: Thanks.

*Kohaku flies over to Hisui.*

Kohaku: Good morning, Hisui-sama!

Hisui: Good morning, Kohaku. Did something good happen?

Kohaku: Eh?

Hisui: You look as though youfre having fun.

*Kohaku is happy.*

Kohaku: Thatfs because Shuuichirou-san patted me.

Hisui: He was petting you?

Kohaku: No, he only did it once.

Hisui: That was nice of him.

Kohaku: Yes!(1)

*The silhouette of a man clad all in black emerges from the house. It is the demon Kokuyou.*

Kokuyou: Hisui......

*Kohaku is startled by Kokuyoufs shining black eye.

Hisui: Good morning. Breakfast is ready.

*Kohaku is frightened, but works up the courage to say hello.*

Kohaku: G...good mornifu...(2)

*Kokuyou stares quietly at Kohaku, who looks as if he is about to cry.*

Kokuyou: ......yo.

*Kohaku is relieved to have gotten an answer. He then notices the chirping of some birds.*

Kohaku: Ah, the birds are calling for me.

Hisui: So they are.

Kohaku: Ifm going out for a bit.

Hisui: Okay. Take care.

*Kokuyou looks disapprovingly at Kohaku as he leaves. Kohaku is still afraid of him.*

Kokuyou: No matter how long we live here together, the little guy still acts so surprised when he sees me.

Hisui: Thatfs because you frighten him.

*Hisui looks up, smiling at Kokuyou.*

Kokuyou: When did I do that? Ifve never done anything to him.

*Hisui giggles*

Hisui: Canft you be scary without doing anything?

Kokuyou: Then arenft you scary too?

Hisui: No, I think one of us is gcuteh.

*Kokuyou is slightly offended.*

Kokuyou: What are you talking about?

Hisui: Anyway, today I made your favourite meat stew and Shuuichiroufs favourite hijiki.(3)

*Their footsteps slowly fade as they walk back to the kitchen together.*

-On the neighborfs roof-

*Chibi Kouryuu sits on a neighborfs roof watching everyone at Shuuichiroufs house eat breakfast. He is accompanied by his two minions Ruri and Hari, who are in cat form.*

Kouryuu: Daaaaaaa!!

Ruri: Whatfs wrong, Kouryuu-sama?

Kouryuu: Why is that house always so damn heartwarming?!

Hari: It canft be helped. The current residents are two sets of newlyweds.

*Ruri nods her head in agreement.*

Ruri: Right, Hari-chan?

Hari: Right, Ruri-chan. Well, I guess this case is a little different.

Ruri: Just a little.

Kouryuu: Humans, angels and demons living together in the same house is more than just ga little differenth!

Hari: Were we a bit wrong?

Kouryuu: Youfre way wrong! Dead wrong!

*As usual, Kouryuu cannot contain his anger. In true cat fashion, Ruri and Hari calmly wash themselves with their paws*

Ruri: Kouryuu-sama gets so angry in the morning. Hefs got high blood pressure or something.

Hari: Youfre right! We canft do anything because we canft return to our true forms now. We have to save our energy.

Ruri: The two of us turn into cats during the day, but Kouryuu-sama just becomes tiny.

Hari: But hefs still really cool even when hefs a little squirt!

Ruri: So true! So true!

*Ruri and Hari lovingly stare at Kouryuu.*

Ruri & Hari: Meoooow.

Kouryuu: But the weather is so nice now. I really feel like doing something big to let out all my stress today, like POW! You know what I mean?

Hari: For example?

Kouryuu: Like bullying Kohaku, bullying Kohaku, and also bullying Kohaku.

Hari: I guess what he really means is that he just wants to bully Kohaku-chan.

Ruri: Yeah.

*Ruri & Hari simultaneously point in the same direction.*

Hari: Oh! Therefs Kohaku-chan!

*Kouryuu turns to look at Kohaku, who is flying around with some birds.*

Ruri: Ayaa. Here we go.

*Kouryuu spreads his wings.*

Kouryuu: I found you.

Hari: To Kohaku-chan...

Ruri: ...what are you gonna do?

*Kouryuu looks delighted.*

Kouryuu: ...Ifm gonna bully him.

-The sky-

*Kohaku and the birds are flying around together.*

Kohaku: Is something wrong, bird-sans?

*The birds feverishly chirp out an explanation.*

Kohaku: A music box?

*They chirp and nod in reply.*

Kohaku: So you found a music box? What kind?

*The birds chirp hurriedly.*

Kohaku: You say Ifll find out if I go with you? Okay, I understand. Letfs go.

*The birds appear pleased.*

-An antique shop on a back road-

*The birds stop in front of an antique shop far away from any main roads.*

Kohaku: Here?

*They chirp a confirmation. Kohaku casually descends to the store front.*

Kohaku: gAntique shoph?

*Kohaku makes a face like hefs remembering something.*

Kohaku: Hmm. If Ifm not mistaken, this type of store sells things like old things like furniture and tools in the human world.

*The birds chirp and nod in reply.*

Kohaku: Did something happen with a music box in here?

*They chirp again.*

Kohaku: Eh? So itfs the music box right there in the window?

*Kohaku thinks for a moment*

Kohaku: So you say I should try listening to this music box?

*The birds wholeheartedly encourage him with their chirping.*

Kohaku: Okay then, here I go.

*The birds chirp to send him off. Kouryuu, Ruri and Hari watch from a distance.*

Ruri: Anya. He went into that store.

Hari: Itfs an antique shop. Kohaku-chan, what are you up to?

-Inside the antique shop-

Kohaku: Hello!

*A bell on the door rings as Kohaku walks inside.*

Takashi: Welcome!

*A man wearing glasses appears from a room inside the shop. He looks very kind and appears to be about 30 years old*

Kohaku: [Waa... that guy with the round glasses looks so nice. Seems like hefs just a little older than Shuuichirou-san.]

*Takashi smiles sweetly.*

Takashi: May I help you?

Kohaku: Ah, um... would you please show me that music box?

Takashi: Certainly. You mean that one?

*Takashi quickly gets the wooden music box and places it in Kohakufs hands.*

Takashi: It was this one?

Kohaku: Yes! Uh, may I open it?

Takashi: Of course.

*Kohaku happily opens the wooden lid of the box. A familiar tune emerges from inside. Itfs the song of Shuuichiroufs mother.*

Kohaku: This is...!

*Kohaku remembers.*

Kohaku: [This is the song that Shuuichiroufs mother... the song that Hotaru-san sang!]

*The beautiful song reaches Kohaku as it flows out from the music box.*

Kohaku: [...Hotaru-san...]

Takashi: Do you like this song?

Kohaku: ...yes.

*Takashi smiles again*

Takashi: I like this song too, so I often open this music box to listen to it.

Kohaku: That must be how the birds found out about it.

Takashi: Birds?

*Kohaku smiles back.*

Kohaku: The birds told me they wanted me to hear this music box. Thatfs why they brought me here.

*Takashi appears as though he doesnft quite understand what Kohaku is saying. A confused look crosses his face, but it quickly returns to a smile*

Takashi: Is that so? It seems as though these birds have brought me a customer. I should show them my gratitude.

*Kohaku giggles happily.*

Kohaku: [Hotaru-san sang this song, so Shuuichirou-san would definitely know it. And itfs such a beautiful music box...]

*He hold the music box a little tighter.*

Kohaku: ...I want to give this to Shuuichirou-san...

Takashi: Shuuichirou-san?

Kohaku: Hoe!?

*Kohaku thought he didnft say that aloud, so he is surprised when Takashi answers.*

Takashi: So youfre buying this for a person named Shuuichirou-san?

Kohaku: H...how did you...

Takashi: You just told me.

Kohaku: Hoe... I meant to say that in my head.

*Takashi chuckles a bit.*

Takashi: You are such a mysterious person. Anyway, I assume youfre buying that music box?

Kohaku: Buying...?

*Kohaku realizes something.*

Kohaku: In order to buy something, you must exchange it for money, correct?

Takashi: Thatfs true.

Kohaku: ......................

*Kohaku frowns disappointedly.*

Takashi: You donft have any money on you?

Kohaku: ...yes.

Takashi: Thatfs alright. What is your name?

Kohaku: Itfs Kohaku.

Takashi: Kohaku-san, is it? Ifll make sure this music box isnft sold to anyone until you come back.

Kohaku: Are you sure thatfs okay?

Takashi: This seems very important to you, so itfs fine.

Kohaku: Thank you so much!

*Kohaku is happy again.*

Kohaku: Ah, wonft you tell me your name?

Takashi: Sonomura Takashi. Ifm the owner of this shop.

Kohaku: Takashi-san.

*Kohaku gives the music box back to Takashi and prepares to leave*

Kohaku: Ifll definitely come back with some money!

*He leaves, shutting the door behind him.*

Takashi: So cute.

*Takashi puts the music box back in its place and winds it up. The box begins playing the song again.*

-The sky-

*After leaving the store, Kohaku flies back up into the air where he is greeted by the birds.*

Kohaku: Thank you! That was the song Hotaru-san sang!

*The birds look happy.*

Kohaku: Ifll come back for the music box once I get some money.

*Kohaku and the birds celebrate cheerfully.*

Kohaku: Oh, but...

*He realizes something*

Kohaku: How do you get money?

Kouryuu: Hahahahahahahaha!

*Kouryuufs maniacal laughter can be heard from the sky.*

Kohaku: Kouryuu!

Kouryuu: You really donft know that?

Ruri: Kohaku-chan is so ditsy.

Hari: Ditsy!

*Kouryuu lands with all the force in his small body.*

Kouryuu: Ifll teach you!

*To be continued* 1. Yes indeed, I am aware of how strange this conversation sounds. I couldnft think of any better way to translate it.

2. Kohaku is actually too terrified to say this phrase properly. He stumbles over his words and says gOhayou gozaimafuh instead of gOhayou gozaimasuh. There really isnft an English equivalent to this, so I just threw that same gfuh on there.

3. Hijiki is a type of seaweed. It is dark green or black in color and usually sold in bags of small, dry strips. Most hijiki dishes require steaming or stewing, which is probably how Hisui cooked it.
