ICAHL 1999/2000 Winter
1999/2000 ICAHL season game #23
-- 05/08/2000 -- 10:45pm: Playoff Game --
The 5th seeded Rebels played the 4th seeded S.J. Wolves. The
season series had the Rebels leading 2-1 with the most recent game
being a 3-0 victory for the Rebels on February 7th but was filled
with many penalties and a scary moment for Karen.
Before the Rebels game started at 10:45pm, the 8th seeded Darts
defeated the number one seed Hornets 4-2 in the upset game of
the night. The Darts next opponent would be the winner of the Rebels-S.J.
Wolves game.
The Rebels were pretty much in the game all night. The Wolves went
ahead 3-1 on a power play goal with nearly 16 minutes to play in the
third period.
Then the Rebels were given multiple chances to comeback with two 5-3
power play opportunities. The Rebels were not able to capitalize on
both chances but did make a game of it by pulling Julie out of
the net with less than two minutes to play to go 6 on 3 in the attacking
zone. The Wolves' netminder scrambled to keep the Rebels shots out
of the net with Karen hitting the right post before coming off
of the ice on the last line change.
In the end, the Rebels and Wolves gathered at center ice for the
ceremonial hand shakes after the 3-1 final score. Watch out ICAHL
2000 summer season. The Rebels are coming!
