The summer of 1999 was the Rebels entry point into 5-on-5 league play at the Ice Centre of San Jose. A 1-14-1 record does not make a championship season but the Rebels learned a lot about how to play co-ed ice hockey for the first time.

The Winter season ended with a 2-1-2 record in an effort for the team to hold on to its .500 mark and place fifth in the division playoffs. The Rebels' playoff game was penalty filled as the team came up short in an attempt to advance through to the next playoff round.
