Review of the Courtyard by Marriott (source: gayot.com): Located within walking distance of all the shopping, culture and dining that historical Old Town Pasadena has to offer, this large 6-floor hotel is a pleasant place to stay for business or pleasure. The 304 guest rooms and 10 suites are outfitted in traditional style and feature whirlpool bathtubs and business necessities that complement the hotels’ full service conference rooms. The Courtyard Café is open for breakfast and while the cocktail lounge isn’t the most sizzling place in town, it suffices for a libation before hitting the Rose Bowl.

Review of the Sheraton (source: gayot.com): It looks like a looming cruise ship from a distance, with five floors forming a sloping front façade behind a circular auto court. But step inside this giant and you’ll be greeted by the warm, earth-toned hues and comfortable ambiance of the lounge, which lead to a terracotta tiled formal banquet room, Restaurant Soleil, serving contemporary California cuisine and featuring huge arched windows, and the classic Charlie’s Bar, outfitted with leather club chairs. The hotel has no pool, but a concierge, business center, shuttle to nearby restaurants and Old Town, and fitness room keep guests happy.
