VANCOUVER CITY SINGERS DAY!

Whereas

The Vancouver City Singers are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this spring;

And Whereas

The choir membership in reflecting the diversity of the City of Vancouver will continue to sing a variety of songs in different genres;

And Whereas

The Vancouver City Singers have brought recognition to the City through the joy of song;

And Whereas

On June 9, 2002 the Vancouver city Singers will perform their anniversary concert at the Queen Elizabeth Playhouse with the assistance of the Donald Baxter Grant and the Vancouver Foundation;

And Whereas

Many former singers and friends will join to reminisce and enjoy choral music together;

Now Therefore

I, Philip Owen, Mayor of the City Vancouver, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM Sunday, June 9th, 2002 as Vancouver City Singers Day in the City of Vancouver.
