Our Aims    -    The aim of this site is to capture as much information as possible on descendant of H.H. Chao Krom Sri Dibudinha [Sithibodinh] or Tiao Sayasane our Great Grand Father.

Our ultimately goal is to include not just descendants of Tiao Sayasane, but to go as far back as possible. We would like to eventually capture different branches of the Laotian Royal Family that have married into our family or vice versa.

For a number of years we; the new generation of “Sayasane” have been researching old documents, interviewing our elders in an efforts to trace our family history.

The idea for this site came about because I keep asking my mum, how each of my cousins related to me. Due to political and economic reason, most of us have been force to re-settle around the world. Therefore, the linkage back to their family may be small or not at all.

Due to these reasons; in future we brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunts will not know our root, even thought some of us may know of each other, but most do not understand the relationship between each of us. How closely relate are we to each other? There is no way we are able to distinguish the different.

It is hope this site will assist the current & next generation with answering a few questions for them i.e.:

  • Where do we come from?
  • Who are Sayasane?
  • How many of us are out there?
  • How close or distant are they to us i.e. How do we relate to each other?
  • Where are they currently living now?

    This site was "formulated" a couple of years ago, with the support of my uncles Tiao Vannasinh and Tiao Vannaseng Sayasane (pass away since) but due to lacks of time, resource and knowledge this site has been on the drawing board ever since. This will be our first attempt. There are numerous obstacles to the collection of information, due to following factors:

    1. No written record - Our forebear did not have a written record of our family, what we have are pass down from generation to generation by words of mouth, information gleam from record of other Royal family, Internet.
    2. There are some available records, but they are mainly in French or Laotian and they are normally stored in France or Laos.
    3. Distant b/w all Sayasane - communication delay & sometime impossible.
    4. Sayasane dispersed around the world - harder to keep track of new generation.
    5. Different Last Name - There maybe some "Sayasane" by blood out there somewhere, but because of the tradition of using their father name as "last name", they would not realise that they are a "Sayasane", due to marriage or political reason they had to change their last name.

    It is hope that by having this site, new generation of Sayasane will knows who they are and understand where/which branches of our "Huge family" tree they come from.

    Even if you are not a "Sayasane", we hope you enjoy reading our family history and have fun navigation through each branch of the family.

    Please keep in mind this is a Work In Progress site; we hope to update it often as more information are available to us.
