The early (OiDai, Seleniko) and the recent albums are
significantly different from each other , although all of them
has the characteristic Värttinä sound.
In general the recent albums are more modern and the early albums
are more "folky". Modern do not means here technical
tricks or drum-machines, just worked out compositions. You can
notice the difference in the style of the CD covers too.
A good idea to start with the latest albums - and they are the
easiest to find in the shops- , or if you are more into folky
tunes lets try "Seleniko". After all if you listen any
of their albums you will be curious for the others.
The complete discography is on the Official site. This was carefully collected by Kari Reiman , so probably this is the most complete list , incl. all albums, singles and compilations too (more than 100 items).
First I did not want to put on the text of the songs as they
are on the CD-covers, but as I know the American releases are
without the original text (at least the early albums). Moreover
the compilations are without text too. So finally here are the lyrics too, hope not to disturb copy
rights and hopefuly without typing errors. Meanwhile you can also find the lyrics on the official site at the albums
