![]() The samples are in mp3 form (99kbps). Every sample is ca.30 sec long and ca.370K in size. Here is not a complete song to avoid cr.problems but you can find some mp3 on the NorthSide page (together with other nordic pieces). Please notice that these short samples are only appetizers as they can not show you exactly the songs. So the best if -after listening the samples- check their gig-list and go to a concert. There are some good quality photo at the bottom of this page.
Scroll down.(Pictures deleted here, because you can find now many
good quality foto on the net. I give links later) |
Itkin | A sad song on their recent album "Ilmatar"
Käppee | I believed earlier that women singing a cappella is boring ,but I missed. This can be very interesting."Ilmatar"
Milja | A wonderful slow song on "Ilmatar".
Linnunmieli | This is also from "Ilmatar"
Emoton | A very nice slow song from the "Vihma" album.
Päivän.. | "Päivän Nousu Nostajani" is a sad song from "Vihma".
Laulutyttö | A more happy song from "Vihma" also.
Maa.. | "Maa ei Kerro" from "Vihma"
Halla | A popular song from the "Kokko" album
Iro | A good sample of their energetic high speed singing. "Kokko"
Outona | "Outona Omilla Mailla" -I very like as they are singing this refrain. "Aitara"
Hoptsoi | A speedy instrumental from "Seleniko" with a lot of accordion.
Seelinnikoi | The "title song" from the "Seleniko" album
Marilaulu | Marilaulu is a little similar to "The Binky
Song" in the Arthur series , what is originally
"Matalii ja Mustii" from the Seleniko album. They are not playing this kind of songs on the recent albums or concerts but I really like it." Oi Dai " |
The next samples are from other groups where Värttinä members are involved or played as quest.
Lansiranta | This is from the solo album of Markku Lepistö
Delekatka | My favorite from the "Tsihi Tsihi" album of
Sirmakka. (Sari Kaasinen, quests are Marko Timonen, drums and Mari Kaasinen as arranger) |
|
Mania | Pekka Lehti and Marko Timonen in Zeta Boo , "ZetaBoo, 1996"
MeahciJienat | Saami duo "Angelit" with Janne Lappalainen at the sax. |
You can find usable samples on the next pages
Arctic Paradise | Lets check the other Hoedown artists too. They are
very good . Troka and JPP have more folky tunes than Värttinä and full with fiddle. Maria Kalaniemi and Kimmo Pohjonen are accordion players. Maria is jazzy and Kimmo is more avantgard." |
|
NorthSide | Lots of Nordic Music.
Outo voima | Longer samples from the album of Pekka Lehti |
