Ladon is the main tributary off the river Alfios. 
 
 
It connects with him to the west near the borders of Arcadia and flows by the site of Ancient Olympia, the place 
where the Olympics were born.
Paios, Aroanios and Tragos are tributaries of Ladon suitable for canoeing, kayaking  and rafting. 
Ladon is a calm river so even beginners can learn these sports here. 
It is ideal for trekking, swimming and fishing. 
The place is full of wildlife and you can even meet wild pigs there! 
There are many bridges connecting the river shores, some of them are truly ancient.
One of the best known places in Arcadia is the river's dam. 
It is Located 120 Km from Tripolis, 420 m above sea level on the mountain Afrodisio and it forms an artificial lake 
with a length of 15Km. 
It was created in 1955 as an hydroelectric project, and it is still used to produce electric power. 
The lake is really beautiful and you can enjoy swimming, fishing or even wind surfing there. 
The scenery is worth bringing your camera or your sketch pad or easel and palette.
