Fear Not Death©
by
Frank Hannebohn
I fear not death, for life is misery,
I fear not death nor it's mystery,
Life is not but trouble and travail,
Spent searching for love to no avail.
Sometimes I want to shout "Hey world I'm here!!!",
But I am afraid that no one will hear.
Tears in the night, the loneliest feeling,
Waking in the dark with my head reeling.
Wondering through life all on my own,
Am I always going to be alone?
Trudging along week by week,
Where can it be, this heart I seek?
Gloom and despair are at my door,
Will darkness reign over me forever more?
No warmth, no tenderness, no compassion,
Only lonely nights devoid of passion?
A kiss, a hug, but never true love,
Is there no one who's heart I make fly like a dove?
Who looks at me with honesty and trust,
And sometimes even a little lust?
Maybe my vision of love is too idealistic,
Perhaps I haven't been very realistic.
But there must be somewhere in between,
Where love will let itself be seen.
I know not where to seek what I long for,
Seems every time I try they lock the door.
If I could only be someone's dream come true,
Then all of mine would happen too.
Life is a journey through which you must strive,
To always keep your hopes alive.
It's not a very easy thing to do,
When no one wants to be with you.
I fear I have lost my special place,
And never more shall gaze at your face.
I fear life without knowing love is true,
I fear life without having a "me and you".
