It was August 1996. I had recently joined AOL (my screen name Teggan) and didn't know what to expect when entering a chat room. The room I finally chose was/is called the Pagan Tea House. Here I found many like minded souls. We had many discussions on religious and spiritual beliefs, not to mention the occasional hot tub party!
Of all the people in the room I had met, one seemed to shine above the rest. His screen name. . . LordLeif1. A shameless flirt. All the women loved him and flirted shamelessly back. I think it was due mainly to his quote. "A good body is not enough. Without good conversation don't give her the ring."
I decided not to be one of his groupies. Instead we had many deep and serious conversations.
About a month later the question arose, where does everyone live?
Would you believe Leif and I lived only 30 minutes apart! He in downtown Chicago and I in a little suburb. Leif suggested we meet for coffee. I said sure.
We chatted on the phone a couple of times (he has a great resonate, very sexy voice) and set a place and time to meet.
Friday, September 20, 1996. It was a dark and drizzly evening when we finally met in a park by Lake Michigan. We had never seen each other. I drove up, I knew him immediately. We walked around the park for a while. I went back to his place and he cooked dinner while I tried to solve Iron Tavern puzzles. We
talked and talked. The next day we made a date to play tennis.
The rest is history. I moved in with him two months later and we have been together since.
I made many a lady jealous when they discovered that Leif and I were a true couple. No one thought it would last but Leif and I knew as soon as our eyes met.
Tuesday, December 9, 1997, Leif took me to the place we had met by the lake and under starlight and skyline asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes!
June of this year we moved from Chicago, Illinois to Denver, Colorado. September 23, 1998 we were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by pine trees and loved ones. We are very happy. We are very lucky to have found each other.
For those who say love on the Internet can't last, they do
not know Leif and I. We are soulmates, destined to be together from the day we first met.
