Vichelle and Budi

One evening I was on the computer and decided to go to one of the AOL chat rooms. I have many friends using the internet, and, I meet them on many nights to catch up on their lives. Never in my wildest dreams did I know I would be meeting my future husband!

He noticed my screen name and IM'd me. At the time, we were both involved with other people. We had so many things in common and spoke for a little while. Our passion for the love of travel was the real connecting trigger for both of us. I had planned a trip to Thailand and would be gone for a month. He asked me to get in touch with him after I returned.

I returned in October 1997 and we began to discuss details about both of our adventures. He had just returned from Montana and Wyoming. Budi and I began to discuss our plans for our future and found our goals to be the same in every way. One evening, the first phone call from him, he told me I was too good to be true, and he asked me to marry him. I told him he was just crazy! Shouldn't we meet first???? We both laughed, but, I knew he had meant what he said.

Budi and I continued to talk every day, and, in February of 1998 he flew to Missouri from L.A. to visit me and meet my family. Distance was a factor, but, we both believed in the love we had for each other. We are both in our thirties, never married, so we knew the kind of person we were looking for and knew from the minute our eyes met it was meant to be.

He arrived one rainy night.........he walked through the gate at the airport, and we embraced each other. My family and I fell in love with him. Indeed, it was destiny.

As he left from Missouri, our hearts broke. We fell deeply in love. Actually, more than love, we were best friends. Our best moments are spent sharing our lives together. He asked me to marry him, and, I said yes. No doubt in my heart.

I flew to L.A. to meet his family, and, we eloped on May 3, 1998. His eyes were full of tears, and as we said our vows, there was not a dry eye in the place. I came back to Missouri and broke the news to our friends and family. My wonderful father flew to L.A. to move him to Missouri, and, we had a small, intimate wedding ceremony in a flower garden on June 13, 1998.

We have now been married six months, and, we could not be happier. Yes, we have had to adjust our lives for each other, but, or love is worth the compromise.

Many friends cannot believe I met the man of my dreams on the internet. The smile on my face and the love Budi and I have for each other have not dimmed from the moment we met. We are extremely blessed and fortunate to have found the one's we were meant to be with forever.
