On April 21st 2006 a Law Suit was raised by the San Rafael Airport owner Joe Shekou  against one of the most outspoken opponents of development of a Soccer Complex on his airport.
The suit insinuated that the land on which his boat dock was built was owned by him.

Defendant lives on Vendola Drive next to Gallinas Creek. The suit threatened 50 other residents with the same suit.

It's possible that the center of the creek was at one time east of the defendant's boat dock but river erosion has moved it westward and subsequently the boat dock was built on that location it appears. This has yet to be established but that is Shekou's case.

He's demanding dismantling of the docks for various irrelevant reasons. (See the suit in conjunction with California SLAPP law). A map accompanies this suit but you need to go get it out of the county files. Here is another map tho.

What is clearly happening is that he is retaliating against opponents of his proposed development in a blatantly illegal attempt to silence him AND their 50 neighbors. This is known as SLAPP and defined in California Code of Civil Procedure CCP Section 425.16 (Search all documents on the State's website  (check "All") search for "425"  or go here for a copy. )

A possible Motion to Strike is available on a fast track procedure against SLAPP and has been prepared by yours truly. This motion can be filed any time before June 20th.
