Amelia's Bones

Here's the scene: A lonely girl with tangled brown hair sits on her bed, a satchel bag in front of her, the contents of which are a mystery. She has been trying to open the bag for weeks, but nothing seems to work. She has a clue: in a watermark found on a piece of parchment that came with the bag, containing two initials: "+S". But what does that mean, exactly? Are they initials at all? Although she normally hates mysteries, she'd give anything to open up this strange bag with the words "Isle of Fiji" burned upon the outside.

That night, she finally figures out the secret behind the watermark, and unlocks the bag. But in so doing, she is shocked by a grisly discovery-the bag is filled with thirteen human bones, including a skull! But whose bones are they? Amelia sits on her bed, unsure whether to tell her parents, frightened and overwhelmed by the bag's contents. Staring out helplessly into the night, she is shocked to discover she is being watched, by a hideous face staring into her bedroom window, a monster with scabby yellowed skin and black, soulless eyes. Like Pandora's Box, opening the bag has unleashed a mess of trouble.
