Personal History: Edwina married Gabriel when she was twenty. It was a rather loveless marriage, but she respected her husband despite his coldness and adored her children. She was widowed in 1963 and left with two grown sons and a five year-old daughter, but she made the best of it and became more involved. She took her years of business knowledge from being Gabriel's home secretary and went to work at Marshall Industries, eventually taking the job of C.E.O. based in the Victoria office. She retired at sixty, leaving the position in her younger son's capable hands.
