Physical Description: Height ~ 5'7" Build ~ Slender Eyes ~ They are a bright bronze-hazel that seems almost amber when they catch the light, and almond-shaped. Hair ~ Straight, black, cut to the nape of the neck at the back, but graduating to longer lengths at the front (the longest part - at the front - hanging just below her shoulders), with wispy bangs. Face ~ She has striking features, with large eyes, a large, pouty mouth, straight nose and sharp cheekbones. Complexion ~ Feld has pale skin with warm golden undertones, and a very few light freckles sprinkled over her nose and cheeks. Feld is right handed. She has a strong mezzo-soprano singing voice, and her speaking voice seems soft, but clear, so that people tend to listen carefully to her words - they are usually strong enough that she doesn't need to shout to make her point. She wears a graduated-bead necklace of green-blue, iridescent labradorite (it was given to her by her brothers when she turned 18). She usually wears slate grey and shades of blue, and close-fitting poet shirts, sometimes with tight, knitted, sleeveless vests and a belt looped twice around her hips over trousers that kick out a little at the bottom. She also wears a fitted, black leather jacket that fastens at the front, just below her breasts, over the top of a poet shirt.

Emotional Description: Feld is friendly and outgoing, usually cheerful. She is astute and can assess a situation quickly, then act. She tends to be cautious with trusting people (perhaps a little suspicious even), and won't until she is sure that that trust is deserved. She works well in a team as either a member, doing what she is directed to do, or as a leader, making the decisions. She gets on better with males than females. She cares about animals and people, this is why she chose to become a healer, however she often cares _too_ much. She has the confidence to express her views, and to speak up, even if they don't agree with those of others. She will always listen to all sides of a story or argument or anything before making a decision, etc. - being part of a large family has taught her to be diplomatic. She loves to walk, sing, read and draw, finding them to be useful ways of relaxing. She is usually quite relaxed, and lighthearted, though frequently comes out with words and thoughts that are beyond her turns.

Feld dislikes confrontation, but when it seems inevitable, she would rather face someone quietly, one to one and explain the problem calmly, than have a public argument. She tries not to let large, strong men (like her father) intimidate her. Despite her confidence, Feld finds it difficult to approach men she is attracted to, and usually chooses not to, for fear of rejection, and ruining an existing friendship.

Brief History: At Esker Hold, 18 turns ago the journeywoman beastcrafter, Kaleen, had another child to her husband, Merit. This one was a girl, and they named her Feldspar. When she was 8 Feld and her older brother, Dorlan we out riding runners, but they got lost and ended up stranded outside for a long while. Just as they were finally headed on the right track home thread began to fall, and they had to race the leading edge to get back to Esker Hold. When they were within sight of the hold, they both thought they were safe, but Dorlan's runner tripped, and as it tried to right itself it trampled the fallen Dorlan. Feld turned to help him, but it was too late: his neck had been broken. As she cried out in grief, a flight of dragons came overhead, searing the thread they had been running to avoid.

Since the death of their firstborn, Dorlan, Kaleen and Merit have always been cold towards Feld. Kaleen is torn between blaming her and being glad that she made it home alive, but Merit blames her entirely, and finds any excuse to beat or start an argument with his only daughter. Feld has always endured these beatings silently; over the years she learnt to keep quiet to not give her father the pleasure of her screams or tears. Merit has always led his family strictly, but those who notice his behaviour towards his daughter, agree that she bears the brunt of his temper and malice. Arguments with Merit are why Feld dislikes violence and confrontation, and tries to resolve arguments peacefully. Feld and her other brothers get on well, though they can be rather over-protective (one reason Feld has never had a lover). However, this has helped discourage unwanted advances of some of the other men in the hold, who often notice Feld for her lithe body and bright eyes. 3 turns ago, when Feld was 15 she accidentally Impressed a small blue flit called Rowan, and he has been with her ever since. Like her brothers, he is overprotective. After a particularly vicious argument with her father this turn, Feld fled Esker Hold, bruised and bloody. As she stumbled through the valley, not entirely sure where she was heading towards, she was lucky enough to be searched as a candidate for Victory Weyr. At the hatching she Impressed a green dragonet, Danith.

Strengths ~ diplomacy, works well with others, and tries to get on with people even if she doesn't like them.
Weaknesses ~ claustrophobic, caring too much - makes her vulnerable.

Personality: Boisterous and outgoing. Doesn't empathise that well with those who aren't as outgoing as she is, apart from Feldspar. Encourages her rider to be less shy.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Her confidence and outgoing nature can be a bit intimidating at first. She is friendly and encouraging.
