He honestly believes that no one has ever cared for him and no one ever will. Except the Lady Valadis of Heartfelt Hold who cares for everyone. The only time he's happy is when he feels the dragons whispering ever so faintly amongst themselves. But he knews he was not good enough to be a dragonrider and it's was a waste of time to dream about it. Until he impressed Mylith and then the world changed. Now there is one person who cares.

Brief History: Mesha, his birth name, was abandoned to the care of a strict (abusive) family before he could walk. His adoptive family was darker in coloration and rubbed Mesha's nose in his differences, unworthiness, and ingratitude. The boy ran away at the age of 8. And came to a larger holding where he was put to work doing whatever everyone else his age didn't want to do. He was beaten frequently for being lazy and stupid. In truth Mesha is very bright. Bright enough to break into the pantry without leaving a trace when food was withheld from him as punishment. Bright enough to make friends with the watchwhers. The watchwhers were his friends more than the humans, even though he wasn't native to the hold. He always had a sense of their moods. His only friend in the hold seemed to be the watchwher keeper.

But he was thrown out of the hold after being caught stealing. The boy had no choice but to wander. He arrived at another hold upon a festival day. And found the folks attending the festival easy prey. He stayed in that hold for about 2 years. Again he was outcast for stealing food from a festival stall. Before he was outcast the Lord Holder had his right hand branded of the back. The Lord Holder believed he was being merciful to the boy by not having the boy's hand removed. The boy wandered again living off the land and narrowly avoiding threadfall. He took wound fever from the brand and was found by a Dragonman, passed out in the open from fever. The Dragonman rescued him and took him back to the Dragonman's home weyr where Mesha recovered. The weyr folk made Mesha nervous and he slipped out of the weyr and wandered a long journey to Heartfelt hold near Victoryweyr. Along the way he rescued a wild watchwher pup. The mother had been killed and not returned to her nest. Mesha responded to the feelings of hunger and helplessness by feeding the beast his last few crumbs of food. He's named Murk.

Mesha came to Heartfelt hold and through a strange turn of events became the assistant of the Lady Holder. He assisted her for a few months and then was sent stand for impression on the sands of Victoryweyr. There he impressed Mylith and became M'sha.

Abilities/Strengths/Weaknesses: Mesha's strengths are his intelligence, dexterity and wariness. He can pickpockets, open locks, sneak, beg and act. He's learned to hunt and fish in order to survive in the wilderness. His ability to disguise himself is limited to faking sicknesses and amputation. His weakness is a distrust of people. He expects to get his hide tanned for doing things wrong. He lacks confidence in himself because it has never been encouraged.
