Physical Description: Valadis is a small woman of slender build topping out at 5 feet with long brown hair going to gray normally bound back in a long braid. Her eyes are green in color with off and on shades of blue and gold. If she weights 95 pounds that is on a good day with a full meal in her tummy. Although she looks tanned there are sprinkles of freckles which tell you that she is fair of skin. Right handed she is strong with her left hand and can handle many tasks at once. Her voice can be very commanding in an emergence or when needing to hand out orders, but in soft personal moments it is soft and sweet. She wears no jewelry and detest weapons of any sort. Needing to move about freely she will only wear long pants and a shirt. Her rooms in the hold are simple with minimal furnishings. No frills for this lady, no personal time taken to collect pretties. Clothing, medical bag and contents, bathing and grooming items are all that adorn her quarters.

Emotional Description: A woman who has seen too much Valadis has little patience for stupidity or cruelty. She is a deeply caring person and that may be why she can be cynical. When she is alone her softness comes out. She will tend a flower, stroke its delicate petals and leaves. Talk to her flit in a tone of voice few if any have heard. Winning her will require an effort by any man.

Abilities/Strengths/Weaknesses: The most talented surgeon on Pern he is often sought after to travel to far away holds. Tends to get cranky when away from his wife and family for prolonged periods.

Brief History: Valadis' parents met at Victory weyr and fell in love immediately as each tended to the various ills of human and dragon. It was there that Valadis was born. The couple return to Harthfelt to raise their daughter only to be sent traveling when Valadis was old enough to take the trips. So many cots and holds had need of healers and nobody to attend them. It was during these travels Valadis became aware of the cruel and ignorant side of people that were otherwise good and intelligence. Parents waiting until a child's leg needed to be removed before calling in a healer when simple care in the beginning would have had the leg whole and useable. Holders not reporting sickness until the hold was in deep distress. Cots where the simple minded were hidden away in darkness seldom seeing the light of day. So much did the young Valadis see traveling with her mother that she vowed to become the best healer on Pern and never to condone such things. Became pregnaunt by bronze rider K'mur. Which may have solved the problem of an heir for the Hold.
