Krishna Ravali School of Carnatic Music


  Arangetram "An Arangetram (ascending the stage) may be described as a traditional ceremony in which the Guru(Teacher) and Shishya(Student) offer before the learned and the discerning, the rewards of long period of striving to master a great  art form."



Krishan Ravali School has  presented the  Arangetram of the following Sudents .  

  • Sivatmicca Yoganathan   13th July 1996 The Nunawading Arts centre Melbourne.
  • Archana Das      4th April 1998 The Nunawading Arts centre Melbourne. 

Sivatmicca, daughter of Dr.Yoganathan and Mrs. Shylaja Yogonathan, was born in England. She hails from a talented family with deep seated religious and cultural roots. She is a first year student at University of Melbourne.  Sivatmicca gegan her training in Carnatic Music at tender age of four with Brahmasri Sarvesvara Sarma - a renowned violinist form Jaffna. On emigrating to Australia, she continued her tution under the expert guidance of her mentor Mrs. Kulabhushany Kalyanaraman especially in preparation for this occasion.  Sivatmicca is a young lady with a mission in life. She has the burning desire to explore the vast canvas of one of the greatest art forms - Carnatic Music. To this end, she has over the years shown tremendous commitment and determination.  Sivatmicca's efforts have been ably supported by her parents who have provided her with a clear sense of her cultural heritage and values. They have unswerving faith in Dr(Mrs) RamaRao's tutelage to guide Sivatmicca to realise her dreams.  Sivatmicca is endowed with plenty of natural talent and exhidits a beautiful sense of enjoyment and understanding in her rendering of Carnatic Music.

Archana,daughter of Indu & Shyam Das, was born in Melbourne in 1982.Ever since she was introduced to music by her two grandmothers at a tender age of five, her interrest and keenness in this art  of Carnatic Musichave only grown.Her formal training in Carnatic Music commenced in 1989.  Over these years she has been a pleasure to teach. Her natural  ability, quick grasping skills and hard work have put her in good stead to reach this high level of performance at a younger age.Archana is the second student and also the youngest person in the Carnatic Music scence in Australia to have reached this milestone. Archana's virtues are her pleasents voice and her cool calm composure.Her confident and cheerful disposition has helped her to successfully participate in various cultural festivals in Melbourne. Over the decade,Archana has regularly participated not only in the annual concerts of Krishna Ravali School but also in the various Cultural events organized by the  Academy of Indian Music (Thyagaraja Festivals) Carnatic Music Circle( Guru Vandanam) and the  Laya Gana School of Carnatic Music  ( Saraswathi Poojas). Her musical skill are not limited to Indian Music. She is equally at home with Westren Music, both in  singing as well as in Piano.
