Report of the 48th meeting;
Somethig thet you really don't think about it. You have accepted it assumed as basics in your daily living.
He watched the science fiction TV program on Sunday. That day's theme was about the possibility of the time machine. In the future, we can travel to the past or to the future?
Questions and Toastmaster's answers and ideas;
1. Do you want to take (get into) the time machine ?
-Yes, every morning I set the time machine I want to go and enjoy playing.
2. Which do you want to go past or future ?
-TM Brazil is dreaming to go back to the future,
3. If you are time traveler, what era do you want to go and where do you want to go in the world ? And what event do you want to see ?
-TM Komata wants to come back to the 15th or 16th century of Japan and wants to see BUSHI; the Japanese ancient soldiers.
-TM Ando wants to come back to 10 or 20 years ago, speculate the stock market and earn money.
-TM Sato wants to come to the historical sites and confirms whether the Tower of Babel has existed or not.
4. If we can change past occurrence, what do you want to change?
- Dr. Steven Hawking said, "Past cannot be changed.". But most toastmasters wants to change our pasts.
About 2 weeks ago, WAKAYAMA Prosecutors argued, focusing on the "character and abnormality" of murder suspect Masumi Hayashi will prove a motive in the curry-poisoning case.
The prosecutors said Hayashi had a "bad temper" while she worked for a major insurance company. Her colleagues recalled that Hayashi discarded some their important insurance documents because of "trivial remarks," the prosecutors said.
One of Hayashi's former bosses said the woman hurled a mobile phone at him after he issued a warning about her sloppy working attitude.
But the prosecutors presented scant material evidence and were unable to acquire a confession from Hayashi. Their case is largely based on circumstantial evidence.
Hayashi has also been accused of insurance fraud and attempting to murder her 54-year-old husband, Kenji, and an acquaintance with arsenic.
She pleaded guilty to the three insurance fraud charges but denied the murder and attempted murder allegations.
We discussed the court system in Japan and had a debate game. Unfortunately, we don't have a jury system in Japan.
It's unusual the criminal to confess in the court. Why only in Japan, why would the criminal confess? It's only a confessor need to be proved.
It's very interesting that the prosecutors are focusing on her character. In this case there're no evidence.
If you are in a jury (court of law), do you think she's guilty or not guilty?
TM Komata gave her third speech.
Suppose you're one of a large audience at some theater. The Hamlet is playing there. You gradually feel excited, when reaches to highlight, you'll find yourself giving applause.
She goes to see a play seven or eight times a year. She gets tickets through her friends, because she's a member of the "Sapporo Play Watching Association" which is called "Engeki Kanshou Koyukai".
By attending this association, she has some tasks to get benefits. This association is mainly operates by the volunteer activities through members. Lots of circle more than three persons forms this association. What's the motivation for her to see a play?
About four years ago, she wanted to do extra curricular activities other than general tasks for the students. By chance a friend of her attended in a circle of watching plays, so she joined.
Actually when in high school she attended in three club activities; two science clubs and newspaper club. At that time her mother said, "Why are you attending so much? How abou t focusing on only one?".
Last month she watched the most exciting musical among the ones she has ever seen. She particularly likes musical and next she likes comedy.
The reasons why she likes watching plays are;
First is the atmosphere in the theater we can share with actors and actresses. Secondly, it adds some taste to her life. Just going to the company on weekday and returning to home is boring.
Sometimes we can communicate with Dramatic company members. It gives her lots of energy to her daily life.
Moreover by watching it, we can experience happenings beyond my scope. This is also true for reading books. We can to everywhere and experience any situation. All the people in the theater get excited when in highlight.
She told the blight side of the play up to now, but there're some minus sides;
Unfortunately, there're several people talking or munching sweets when staging a play, it was prohibited to eat or talk when the drama is ongoing. The portable phone rang, too. Not only her but so many people complained about this bad manners, so the managing team warned to everybody.
She has lots of hobbies and likes extra curricular activities. We can grow through these activities like toastmasters!! She wants to enjoy my life and don't wants to be workaholic. Next month she'll watch comedy.
