Castles define the landscape in Austria
Our Austrian correspondent takes us on a trip to some beautiful castles. Visit three striking examples of buildings that seem to grow out of the mountain on which they're built. Florian also gives us some excellent links to Austrian sites, as well as beautiful Real Audio sounds of the area. (Lesen sie Florians Kolumne ab sofort auch in Deutsch: Einblicke aus Österreich.)

MIDI master turns talents to RA
One of my favorite sites in Vienna is Maurice Biron's. This link demonstrates one of the reasons why. A master of MIDI composing, he has now directed his abilities to Real Audio. The selections you can play from the above link were built in his mini-studio using a MIDI piano, computer, Proteus sound modules, DP/2 effects machine, microphone, Mackie mixer, sound system and headphones (for late-night work). He has promised to write more about his methods for next month's edition. In the meantime, pay him a visit and listen to some really striking music.
