One of the best MUD clients out there for the PC is zMUD. I have been very satisfied with it, and I think it is far better than a regular telnet client.
Download lycanthrope
configuration file for zMUD.
Current config file version: 7.0
Last updated: 7/8/05
Created using zMUD version: 7.13b
I have made use of zMUD's updated class structure to group the configuration's
components to help you see what they do. This way, you can choose to use only
the ones you find useful.
CONFIGURATION CLASSES | |||
---|---|---|---|
Class | Description | ||
Channels | Colors channel output | ||
Combat | Colors important combat information | ||
Drinks | Colors drinks in inventory | ||
Lyc forms | Captures info about form use and time remaining in form | ||
Price check | Calculates money needed to raise a stat and how to divide money among party members in group hunting | ||
Status | Captures non-lyc-specific status like drunkenness level |
Note 1: The price check class has several commands associated with it. There is a detailed description about them you can read.
Note 2:The config file tracks both how drunk and how full you are and how much form power you have left (shadowself). To update these values, just use the "score" and "sself" commands. If you want to avoid typing in "sself" all the time, you can turn on the auto update feature with "lycset sself on".

Installing the Configuration
Because of a limitation of the server running this page, the file is in .zip
format. You must decompress it with winzip
or a similar utility before using it.
Caution:This file was developed using the zMUD version listed above. Unfortunately, the config files are not always backwards compatible. Be sure to make a backup copy of any configuration you have before attempting to use this config file. If you are having problems getting it to work, you may have an old version of zMUD. Getting the latest version may fix the problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important
Before you continue, you should exit zMUD. If you leave it running, there
is a chance you will overwrite the new config file right after you install
it. This is the number one problem people have, and they always ask me about
it. So please, remember to exit zMUD before following
these directions.

There are two ways to use this file:
If you chose the first option, skip down to Tweaking the Setup. If not, you will have to do the following:
#SHOW Warning: About to return to human form!
This will give the warning when your form change is running out.
Tweaking the Setup
At this point, you have a configuration which will help you play. For the best results, you may want to modify it slightly so that it fits your character more exactly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You should now have a fully working configuration. Remember, the status bar at the bottom displays your alcohol and food level. These values will only update when you type "score".
A Few Notes
The number pad is configured to allow you to move using the arrows. The up
arrow is north, down is south, left is west and right is east. The 9 and 3
keys are up and down, respectively. The 7 and 1 keys are undefined initially,
so I set 7 to give your inventory and 1 to give the score information. If
you don't like these choices, you can modify them in the System class under
Keypad.
