(A little note, this entire episode is basically a clip show, showing scenes from the past. Before, I only vaguely described any flashbacks, but now, since the show is chock full of them, I'll have to describe the scenes from DBZ in full detail as well. Or I'll won't have much to write about. lol)

The Golden Suu Shinlon and the Super Saiya-jin 4 Goku power up in front of each other... The ground breaks up, and cement walls begin to crack... Then a huge explosion happens in the city... Elsewhere, at the Capsule Corp mansion, Vegeta rushes out on to the balcony and flies off, but Bulma stops him. Vegeta tells her that he can't let Kakarotto fight alone, and will help. Bulma asks him if he really thinks he's a match, then tells him that she's though of something... The house is then rocked with an earthquake.

On some machine, Vegeta is doing some sort of strength training (has reaches the 350s). He curses Kakarotto's for his seemingly limitless power... Vegeta struggles in the machine a bit, then goes SSJ and blows it up. Vegeta steps out wobbly, then loses his SSJ and collapses on the ground... He wonders when this gap of power appeared between him and Kakarotto...

Flashing back to DBZ, when Goku first fought Vegeta... Vegeta tells Goku that when Saiya-jins are born, they are examined. When they find a weak one, they'll send them to a planet where there would be no strong people. Which means, as Vegeta tells Goku, he's just a reject. Goku thinks that he should thank them for sending him to Earth. He thinks it doesn't matter if he's a reject, as long as he has the will, he will overcome the elites. Vegeta thinks this is funny, and tells him that he'll show him that he won't succeed no matter how determined he is.

Goku lauches to attack with a flurry of punches and Vegeta blocks... GT Vegeta speaks saying that in their first fight, Kakarrotto wasn't even a match, he was far superior. In the flashback, Vegeta starts punching Goku repeatedly, and asks if that's all he's got before smashing him down. Goku manages to land on his feet, and sees that Vegeta is really powerful, already stronger and faster than him without even using his full power.

Vegeta looks at him and wants to see if Goku has anything more left to fight him. Goku complies, and goes "Kaiou-ken!"... He gets the red aura and launches punching Vegeta in the face... Then, punches him over and over again, ending off with a kick. Goku flies at him again, but is stopped by a kick of the Vegeta to the face. Goku retreats a bit... Vegeta, with some blood on his lip, tells Goku if that was his best, then he's truly disappointed.

Zipping ahead, Goku now his his shirt off, and thinks to himself that his body must be able to handle it... He prepares, as Vegeta watches... With great energy expelling Goku goes "3X Kaiou-ken!", which shatters the ground beneath Vegeta surprising him... Goku jumps to attack, punching Vegeta in the face, then kicks his back sending him straight up. Vegeta recovers and tries to blast Goku, but he comes around and kicks him into a rock hill.

GT Vegeta thinks, that even at that time, Kakarotto wasn't able to beat him... In the flash back, Vegeta explodes out of the rocks, then zipping ahead, Vegeta flies up into the air to blow up the Earth. Vegeta powers up his Galik Ho, and tells Goku that he can dodge if he wants, but if he does the whole Earth would be blown up. Goku thinks that he has to take the chance... He powers up using the 3X Kaiou-ken, and prepares a Kamehameha...

The ground tears up and rocks float up in the sky... The two power up the respective beams... Vegeta tells Goku that he won't be able to stop his special attack... The continue powering up... Vegeta tells the Earth to vaporize and fires the Galik Ho. Goku fires his Kamehameha and the beams clash in midair... Vegeta is surprised that Goku's beam can match his... The two continues struggling in the the clash...

Goku then yells out "Kaioken 4X!" and his Kamehameha gets a boost in power and starts pushing Vegeta back, to his surprise. The Kamehameha pushes Vegeta out of sight into the sky... Zipping further ahead... Vegeta is badly injured and crawling back to his space capsule. He curses, thinking being the strongest, and still lost... Krillen picks up Yajirobe's sword, and approaches Vegeta... Vegeta realizes he can't move...

Krillen, sword in hand, strikes to kill Vegeta, but Goku stops him. He's lying not to far away (Gohan, naked, lies nearby as well), and asks Krillen to spare Vegeta for him... Goku tells him that even though he has no right to ask of this, he just doesn't want Vegeta to die like this. He wants to fight him again, and properly beat him. Krillen holds the sword to Vegeta's face...

Goku tells him that he knows this is not the right thing to do, but begs him to at least grant him this request so he can try... Krillen drops the sword as Vegeta climbs into his capsule. GT Vegeta thinks, saying that Goku spared him so he'd get another chance to beat him... The capsule flies off, while GT Vegeta says from that time on, Kakarotto his been in his mind...

Back in the present, Vegeta stands in the wrecked training room... Vegeta says that he's the prince of the Saiya-jins, the best, and there should be no one better than him. Even though that's how he thinks, Kakarotto has always been one step ahead of him... Flashing back to DBZ again, this time on Namek, Freeza fires a beam through Vegeta in front of Goku. GT Vegeta was saying that Kakarotto became a Super Saiya-jin even before he did.

In the flash back, Goku tells Freeza that he (Vegeta) can't even move his fingers anymore, and there was no need to kill him. Flashing a little ahead, Vegeta, barely alive, tells Goku he's an idiot.. Vegeta tells him that he must leave his weak feelings behind, or he can become a Super Saiya-jin. Vegeta has tears in his eyes as he says this to Goku... He tells Goku to beat Freeza and avenge the Saiya-jins, and then he dies.

Flashing further ahead, Krillen is being forced into the air by Freeza where he blows him up. Goku gets pissed... Lightning strike the area... Goku yells "You (Freeza) won't be forgiven!" unleashing the powers of the Super Saiya-jin. Flashing more ahead, now Vegeta in a pink shirt (when Goku comes back to Earth from Namek/Yadratt), telling Goku that even though he's a SSJ, he will beat him, and to not forget that he is the number one Saiya-jin. Goku nods to him in his Yadratt clothing (Krillen wearing Roshi's glasses and Yamcha are also there).

Back in GT, Vegeta is angry that now Goku's achieved Super Saiya-jin 4 as well. He powers up yelling "Don't kid me!" blowing up the door, which read "Gravity Room". Elsewhere, Bulma works away on a computer, and wants Vegeta to leave it up to her.

(Commercial Break)

Now Vegeta is taking a shower... He thinks that he's been thinking of a way to to beat Kakarotto ever since he met him, and it doesn't matter how... Flashing back to DBZ, to the Majin Vegeta part where Vegeta blows away a part of the stadium (and city) of the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai. Goku is surprised at this, and Vegeta tells him that if he doesn't want to see anymore people dying, he should fight him now.

Goku then realizes Vegeta purposely let himself be possessed... Vegeta fires another blast at the stands, narrowly missing the good guys (Bulma, Yamcha, Chi Chi, Puar, and Roshi). Goku goes SSJ, and Vegeta tells him that he's finally surpassed him... He goes on saying that they are both Saiya-jins, but "How dare you (Goku) surpass him!", and adding in that's he's the prince of the Saiya-jins. Vegeta curses him for saving his life, and won't just let things go...

Goku yells for Babidi to take them to a place where there's no people, so they can fight properly. Babidi sends them (including Gohan and Dai Kaioushen) to a wasteland... Goku tells Vegeta that he doesn't want to get too damaged for that will give power to Buu's revival, so he'll now use his full power to quickly end the match. Vegeta tells him that's what he wants and adds "Let me see the results of your training in the afterlife". Vegeta powers up to SSJ2, Goku, already in SSJ2, realizes it can't end quickly now even if he wanted to.

Vegeta tells Goku to come and watch how he'll kill him. The fight starts, and rock mountains collaspe under the energy of the fight. They hit each other with punches and kicks. They land on the ground again, and Goku says that he thought he trained quite well in the afterlife, but against Vegeta, they are evenly matched. Then he thinks Vegeta must have trained much harder than him...

Vegeta tells Goku he's wrong. At first, even though he trained much harder, Goku is still more skilled, and the difference in power wasn't going to change even with time. He realized that when he fought Babidi's monster (Yakun). That hurt his pride badly, him being a prince, an elite, forever to have a difference in power behind someone... That's when he decided to... And Goku now realizes why Vegeta purposely let himself be possessed by Babidi.

Vegeta continues saying that wasn't an honorable thing to do... Goku tells him that he never thought, with all his pride, that he would let someone control him, and asks Vegeta why... Vegeta goes saying that he wanted to use him (Babidi) so he can beocme his old self again, and he blows out his power. He continues saying that he wanted to become a heartless Saiya-jin, one that doesn't care of anything, only to fight you (Goku).

Vegeta continues saying that being here has affected him a lot... He's become peacefull... He's even got a family now... and that feeling isn't bad at all... He's actually starting to like this comfortable Earth. That's why he allowed Babidi to put a spell on him so he can return to his old self, and is glad that what he feels now is good too. Goku asks him "Do you really think this is good?".

Back in GT, Vegeta still in the shower, he looks at a mirror and repeats Goku's words, and now says that he's forgotton. Then flashing back to DBZ again, Vegeta vs Fat Buu, with Vegeta about to go Kamikaze (suicide bombing) to blow up Buu. GT Vegeta thinks, saying that he put all those things behind him when he faced Buu. The scene goes on, with Vegeta blowing up, attempting to take Buu with him.

Flashing forward, Vegeta dead, on the Kaioushen Homeworld watching the fight between SSJ3 Goku and Kid Buu. GT Vegeta thinks saying that he saw SSJ3 when he was revived, and he thought... Now we see more of the fight between Goku and Buu, and Vegeta saying "Go Kakarotto, you are number one." Back in GT, now Vegeta is walking down a hall with a green canned sport drink. He thinks that at that time, he's gave up, and decided not to keep chasing Kakarotto, and to only train to surpass his own limits, to get stronger.

Vegeta walks into the computer room Bulma is in and asks her what she's up to. Bulma puts up a display for plans to a machine. She tells him it's a Brute Ray Machine. Vegeta casually notes that and takes a drink from his pop. Bulma then tells him that he can also go SSJ4, which makes Vegeta spit his drink out. Vegeta questions this, and Bulma tells him that he's a Saiya-jin too, so whatever Goku can do, there's no reason why Vegeta can't either.

Bulma tells him to take a look, and punches something up on the computer screen. She says when she was on the Tsfuru-jin Planet, she copied their data. A picture of an evil Bulma possessed by Bebi pops up, and Vegeta tells her she looks good. Bulma says it's the wrong file, and shows another. This flashes back to GT Episode 34 when Goku went Golden Oozaru (Big Ape) at the light of the Full Earth.

Bulma explains that when Goku absorbed the Brute Rays from the Full Earth, he turned into an Oozaru. Then zipping forward to Episode 35 and Episode 36 with Pan trying to get Goku's mind back, then Goku turning SSJ4. Bulma explains that then because of Pan's tears, Goku regained his reasoning and transformed into a SSJ4. Bulma then says that's where Goku's different from Vegeta. When Vegeta goes Oozaru, he doesn't lose his reasoning, so if he absorbs the Brute Rays, then he can go SSJ4 as well.

Vegeta then tells her that on the Tsfuru-jin Planet when he was possessed by Bebi, he absorbed Brute Rays and turned into an Oozaru, but not SSJ4. Flashing back to Episode 36 to when Bebi-Vegeta turns Oozaru, Bulma explains that it probably didn't happen because Bebi was in his body. Vegeta asks that since he hasn't lost his reasoning when he goes Oozaru, why after all this time he hasn't gone SSJ4. Bulma thinks what Goku says might be true, it's because of insufficient training.

Vegeta then thinks to himself that would mean that even he couldn't do it (go SSJ4) back when he was the best of the Saiya-jins. Bulma continues telling him that the Vegeta now need not fear, he will be able to go and surpass SSJ4. She tells him that with this Brute Ray Machine, becoming a SSJ4 will no longer be a dream. Vegeta gets excited, and asks Bulma when the machine can be built. She tells him that she can do it before the end of the world.

Vegeta congratulates her on the good job, and crushes his drink (not empty). He tells Kakarotto that he will soon be a SSJ4 too, perhaps even 5, and to watch for it, he won't just sit idly by. Bulma smiles at him saying that he is indeed a Saiya-jin that loves to fight, and there's no choice now, since she is this Saiya-jin's wife. Vegeta now blushes. Will Bulma's plan to turn Vegeta to a SSJ4 work? Back at the battle, an explosion takes out some buildings... The match between Goku and Suu Shinlon is still taking place.
