In my 8th grade year (1998) I founded the computer programming interest group that was to become VidWorks Entertainment. Today, we make computer games for others to enjoy. I am the Founder, Head Coordinator, and a Programmer for VidWorks. My friend Josh Haas is Personnel Coordinator and a skilled Programmer. My friend Alex Jukl is a very skilled Game Designer. Other than that, everyone else is an Inactive or an Unofficial Advisor, but the 3 of us manage to work together pretty well. You can go to my VidWorks Entertainment Website to get the latest scoop on the games we have so far. My friend Josh made the GamePak, which contains 4 games, of which Fighter is the best, but they're all good to a certain extent, although really really simple. He also created Trooper, which is a REALLY fun game. I recommend you try it. Currently, Josh is working on Spy 2, which is almost done, and Quest, a free-roaming RPG in the style of old-skool RPGs (as in Dungeons & Dragons old-skool). I helped make a large portion of Quest's . . . quests and storyline. My friend Alex is designing an RPG called Viral Force. I've written the framework code of it for him. In the meantime, not only am I coordinating all these projects to work together, but I'm also writing an RPG series, revolving around a man named Viltris, the cause of, and the result of his actions. Collectively, these games are known as the VMyth. The first, "Demons" was started using MegaZeux, an old DOS-based program--which works just fine on Windows 95, 98, and ME (it SHOULD work on NT, 2000, and XP, but if it doesn't blame Microsoft)--and will be finished on MegaZeux. However, future installments of the VMyth will be written in Visual Basic, and thus, be available for full compatibility with Windows. I'm also a Sun Certified Java Programmer, and likewise, you'd expect some Java games from me. I haven't made anything serious yet, but I've created a few small toys. Try Shape Wars and Donuts in Space. I also made a chat program called VidWorks Chat, but the server is non-existent now, so, unless you want to run your own VWChatServer, there's no point in getting this. E-mail me if you want to run your own VWChatServer. |
