The Cosmology of Buddhism

Buddhism is a pragmatic religion combining both the reasoning of the physical world and the spiritual world of the truth that the Buddha's insight after gaining Enlightenment. The Buddha's teachings and philosophy is the reasoning of the physical world, that is finite concerning our world of psychological self.

The Cosmology of Buddhism is the reasoning of spiritual world, revealed by the Buddha that forms the infinite of matters that influence the fundamentals of teachings and philosophy's reasoning such as the Noble of The Truth. Both are in relation to each other but the cosmology is a conceptual view and less relevant to the design thesis. Hence, only some of the important are being revealed.

According to the revelation of Buddha, there are all together 31 forms of existence, out of which, we only know humankind and animals. However, at least three other forms of existence have been described on this earth, they are the pretas (ghost), asuras (demon or fallen devas), and niraya ( Hell- Beings) .In accordance with the Law of Causality, death is followed by the immediate rebirth in one of the 31-plane of existence as a result of previous karma.

Beginning from the lowest form of existence is Apaya or Kamaduggati-bhumi (plane of misery), the nether worlds of existence where asuras, animals, pretas, and  niraya being the lowest  dwell. It is the lowest form of rebirth world of existence called Samsara (to be detailed later)

Also in Samsara is the realms of Kamasugati-bhumi or the sensuous or blissful connected with desires plane of human and Gods (Deva) realm. Human can be reborn in higher realm or lower realm according to past karmas. There are altogether 6 Gods realm namely Catumaharajika that coexist with the human realm, while the other 5 are in space. The 5 in space are Tavatimsa, Yama, Tusita,  Nimmanarati, Paranimmita-vasavati. In the realm of deva, they enjoyed sensuous pleasure and enjoyed no pain but they too would face death after their life span of millions of earth years is exhausted and would be reborn  in other planes even in Apaya if they did evil deeds. If they do good deeds would be reborn in the higher Brahma planes.

The Brahma planes are planes of fine material consisted of 16 jhana heavans known as Rupa-bhumi and the highest Brahma planes of formless realm or the immortal consisted of 4 Arupa-Loka. One needs to attain special mental absorptions or Jhana to be reborn in the planes of Brahma. The Brahmas have renounced all sensual pleasures and are near perfection except for the belief in Atta or the eternal soul and the attachment to an eternal rebirth. However Their life span are uncountable to earthly years and they also will be reborn once Their karma has exhausted.

On the other hand, Buddha, who achieved supreme enlightenment is out of the 31 plane of existence for the plane of existence is still attach to the Cycle of Reborn as being detailed in the Wheel of Life below.

The Wheel Of Life

The wheel of life is the simplified version of the Buddha teaching in the realm of existence (samsara). The Brahmas too confined in their belief refused to hear Buddha's teaching of escaping the cycle of rebirth and sufferings. The six realm of existence that answer to Buddha's teachings are the Devas, Asuras, Humankind, Animals, Pretas, and Niraya being the bottom of the realm. It is seen here that they are all represented in the 6 sections of the wheel rim bounded and controlled by Mara, the tempter and the evil one. Buddha on the other hand is outside of the cycle to teach the way of Deliverance from Mara.

Hence, the teachings  Buddhism is a complex one to liberate one's mind (in this case consciousness) not to be reborn again in the Wheel of Life or the least is not to be reborn to a lower realm. The concept of Buddhism is escape from the suffering- that is in fact life it self and death it self - because every death leads to a rebirth that is a life.

[ This is the teaching of Buddhism as a whole, and it is hard to understand either because we have never attained what Buddha has attained and still live in ignorant. This is the best explanation that is beyond words and description]
