Awakening In Spring

Let the voice of Spring enchant you
Free music of the soul
Let us forget our language
And succumb to the precious whole

Giant goldfish swim below me
Yellow buds begin to flower
Are they conscious of survival?
Do we dare reflect their power?

The world we've made has trapped us
And behind our words we hide
Heedlessly pursuing
To stretch out far and wide

We assault universal consciousness
And for that are buried in sand
We try to keep on growing
But are stuck in man-made land

When we trust a word's utility
Many assumptions we have made
Foundations lack of certainty
Clouded visions sure to fade

Alas!  Hope is not lost
Sophistication may have its day!
When all might seem to crumble
The winds will blow our way

It's breath is cool and fresh
Our silence grants some space
The song of life persists
As old values take their place

Rebirth of life once dry
Spring whistles a memorable tune
With heaven in our eyes
Our souls may find their truth
