Internet Bliss

Internet, net
Mailing jet
Through the world
Around the world
We’ve barely even met.

Sit in silence
Occasional *chuckle*
Fingers motioning
A techno jungle
Words an letters all in a muddle.

We meet and we group
We can talk about soup
Bulletins posted
Ice-cream in a coupe
Ingested and full
we’ll crave more pretty soon.

From China to Spain to the U.S. of A.
There are millions to talk to
Within the span of one day
Behind the computer
We can all dare to say

What we mean – is easier here
For we’re less judgmental
In this non-physical sphere
So with opening hearts
we are able to share
The delight and the freedom
of computer screen glare!

I hope that one day,
this freedom will find
A place in our souls
To be cherished and refined
Turning to look at the people around
To wonder what it was that we so confound?

Symbolic and sacred this internet bliss
We mustn’t overlook
We don’t want to miss
The point that I’m trying to get at
is this:

In all of the years,
In all of the struggle
We have now found a way
To make peace with each other.
With patience and time
Good intentions combined
Might we reach towards oneness
Our planet Divine.
