Snow Angels

Well spent time in snowy white
Bundled up in woolen
Excitement seeping from my eyes
The perfect space is chosen

Careful not to make a mess
I take each step with caution
My knees up high, my arms abreast
Forehead wrinkled in concentration

The air is crisp, the scent is cold
But not without affection
My smile grows wide as I grow bold
While snowflakes cause distraction

Standing there in the centre now
The precious space untouched
I turn myself to face my path
Pleased I haven't messed too much

With arms out wide and legs apart
I trust the soft white down
And with a plop my joints held stiff
Fall perfect to the ground

Landed now whilst snowflake fall
I listen to their voices
The angel patient in my limbs
Tingling lifetimes of innocent forces

Away I go I fly and soar
The Angel comes to life
I flap my wings, my dress takes form
And giggles meet the sky

There's nothing like the Angel snow
That's there because you live
There's nothing like that surging glow
That's bright enough to give

I keep Snow Angel in my heart
And wait for another day
For only in such timeless white
Can my soul come out to play
