Tears

Sitting here,

tears flowed down my cheeks

I'm filled with a sadness

there isn't a reason

and there is no need

I feel all the memories of life

I see faces, just barely

I can barely see through the glass

I can barely write dear diary

Coming to this channel,

black space before me

the path is filled with music

and the ground falls away

the light touch of the fiddle

fills me with mood

only this sound knows

intimate and alone

sad yet with no despair

There is love

in this heart of mine that doesn't know

what to move cry out and shake

lay down and feel the blades of grass

clean and real between fingers and toes

the morrow will bring forgetfulness

gay laughter and frightful sanity

it begs me to prolong these moments

of distortion and sadness
