SAY WHAT? (Updated:01.11.03)
Some Sound of Music musings. This is NOT against the movie.
~ How did Herr Zeller and the others know that the Von Trapps were hiding at the Nonnberg Abbey? A lucky guess? Instincts perhaps? How did they not notice that they have escaped the festival in the first place? Were they not carefully watched by all those soldiers?
~ When the children began singing So long farewell, Friedrich looks at someone (I don't know maybe it's Maria), nods, smiles and continued singing. What is that all about? Do you know? Let me know
~ It all happened too fast!
That morning, the captain told his children that he was going to marry the Baroness, after hearing the (shocking) news, they went to see Maria in the abbey, then the reverend mother talked to Maria and send her back to the Von Trapp house, then that night, the captain broke off his engagement to the baroness and ask Maria to be his wife! whew! and that all happened in one day!
~ After they kissed and before Maria said the line, "When the Lord closes the door, somewhere He opens the window",, the captain is hugging Maria right?! Well, you will notice that when Maria is about to raise her head to say that line, the captain presses his hand at her back so she can't say that line just yet. I don't know maybe he's still enjoying the moment, if you know what I mean...
~ Before the captain tear the flag, you'll notice that he was searching for the pre-cut part so it would look that he teared it? Well, who said that tearing a flag into half with your bare hands is easy without some little help huh?!
~ Do you mean to tell me that if Maria hadn't return the captain will marry the baroness?! I mean, he should be the one who went to go see Maria in the abbey if he's really inlove with her, or maybe call the reverend mother and ask the real reason on why she left. Why didn't he at least wait for her to come back before he made the decision to marry the baroness? Well, they did got married at the end so what's my problem? I'm crazy, I know but didn't you ask that question to yourself too?
~ Who do you think placed the frog in Maria's pocket, I know that it wasn't shown in the movie, but who do you think did it? My guess is Friedrich because he was the closest one to Maria, so close that he almost...well...never mind...anyways...he was standing behind Maria while the other children distracts her. I think...
~ You know the part when the captain accidentally called Maria captain? Actually that was an accident and never on the script. They said that that part was suppose to be cut off from the movie but then they realized it that the audience will love it, so they include it in the movie!
~ Did you notice the wreath Maria was wearing at her wedding? No? Here's a screenshot.
Do you remember now?
The wreath actually symbolizes the virginity of the bride.
