The grading procedure for this course will be as follows: The formula for determining your grade will be very simple-- the number of points your achieve divided by the number of points that you could have achieved multiplied by 100 OR (points earned / points possible ) X 100 = your grade Each chapter will have a set of learning objectives that must be written out and turned in. They must be hand written in your own handwriting (THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF THEY ARE TYPED). The test will be the following format: Multiple Choice. They will be timed tests. Students will have 42 for each question. Therefore a 50 question test will last 35 minutes while a 30 question test would last 21 minutes. There will also be some open ended questions. Details will follow about these. They will be separate tests from the MC tests. HOMEWORK: When homework is assigned on a given night, you are REQUIRED TO COMPLETE IT THAT NIGHT AND BRING IT THE NEXT DAY TO CLASS. If you fail to complete it, or fail to give an honest effort to complete it correctly. Up to FIVE points will be deducted from the test you take in that unit. In case you are wondering that is a very severe punishment as the tests are going to be very hard as it is. SPIRAL EFFECT The test given throughout the year will have a spiral effect. This means that each test will be comprised of mostly questions from the current unit but will also contain questions from the previous units. In this way, every test is somewhat of a cumulative test.
