What is V.S.A?
The Vietnamese Students Association, V.S.A., is a social/cultural organization officially recognized by the Student Association in 2001 to act as a network for those students interested in Vietnamese culture. In addition to promoting Vietnamese heritage to the NIU campus, VSA also strives in helping its members by acting as a social, cultural, and professional resource. VSA has five main objectives:
  1. Family
  2. Organization
  3. Culture
  4. Unity
  5. Spirit

Why Should You Join VSA?

  1. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  2. College and graduate school is more than just getting your degree. In order to get that “dream?job or get that promotion, you’re going to have to have the right skills and know the right people. VSA provides its members with opportunities to develop their leadership, resumes, community service, a professional network of friends and associates, and if desired, their English.

  3. MEET NEW PEOPLE & MAKE NEW FRIENDS

  4. With numerous fun VSA events and activities going on throughout the year, meeting new people and making long lasting friendships will not be a problem. You can never have too many friends and joining VSA is a great way to make them.

  5. CULTURAL IDENTITY

  6. VSA also acts as a social network to those interested in Vietnamese culture. Whether you just came from Vietnam, are a 3rd generation Vietnamese American, or are just interested in the Vietnamese culture, VSA can act as your cultural resource.
