Article I: Name The name of the organization shall be VSA (Vietnamese Students Association)at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. Article II: Purpose The Vietnamese Students Association, V.S.A., is a social/cultural organization officially recognized by the Student Association in 2001 to act as a network for those students interested in Vietnamese culture. In addition to promoting Vietnamese heritage to the NIU campus, VSA also strives in helping its members by acting as a social, cultural, and professional resource. VSA has five main objectives:
Anyone is eligible to participate in VSA; everyone is welcome. No membership dues are required. Article IV: Voting Committee The legislation committee comprise of board officers. Voting committee will consists of officers and members and require a majority vote to pass the legislation. If any any dissolution arise in a general meeting, the president will make the final decision. Article V: Election Ballot elections will be held for the officer positions. New positions can be proposed and fulfilled, if needed. Anyone is eligible for office and must be nominated. Election of positions will require a majority vote by the officers and members, excluding the position nominee. Article VI: Officers
Article VII: Meetings General meetings shall be held at least once a month, unless decided otherwise by a majority vote at a meeting. Article VIII: Impeachments Any officer may be removed from their position by petititon of any member for any of the following reasons:
Article IX: Amendments Any student at any general meeting may propose amendments to this constitution. Proposed amendments will be raised, discussed, and voted upon. |
