A
Andy Trudeau- Prues' highschool boyfriend, now an inspector in the SFPD, partnered with Darryl Morris. They lose touch and meet again in the hospital in episode 1. They get back together briefly until Prue's growing secret (withcraft) forces them apart. He remains a major character through the first season, eventually discovering the secret Prue and her sisters are hiding. He is killed trying to protect Prue and her sisters from a demon in the final episode of the first season. (1.01)
Astral Projection- Prues' newest ability. The ability to seperate soul from body and literally be in two places at one time. (2.09)
Athemae- A ceremonial knife used by witches to direct and transfer energy. More often seen in the show as a tool used by warlocks to murder witches. (1.01)

B
Barbas- A demon that appears once every 1,300 years on Friday the 13th. He kills by scaring witches to death, quite literally. He can read their worst fear, and then he makes them think that it is happening. If he can kill 13 unmarried witches before midnight on the 13th, he is freed from the underworld to walk the earth every day. (1.13)
Belthazor- a demon the Charmed ones have been fighting through most of season 3. Cole Turner is his human form, and a DA for the city. He is only part demon, and part human. His father was a human, his mother a demon. He is sent after the Charmed Ones by the Evil Triad, but ends up killing them when he falls in love with Phoebe. (3.03)
Blinking- The ability of a warlock to move instantly from place to place.
Book Of Shadows- A book of spells, vanquishes and other magical work that has been passed down through the females in the Halliwell family line. Each generation has inherited the book and added spells to it. In episode 3.11, Natalie implied that every witch keeps a BOS, and that is should be kept in a "sacred and protected spot," i.e. an altar room. (1.01)

Cloning- the ability to duplicate yourself, but can only be sustained for a limited amount of time. (3.11)

Dark Lighter- Dark lighters are evil beings whose job is to kill whitelighters. They carry crossbows that shoot arrows dipped in a poison lethal to whitelighters. Some of them target future whitelighters- people that have not died yet, but are destined to become whitelighters. These dark lighters try to compell their person to commit suicide, the only way to keep someone from becoming a whitelighter. (1.21)
Darryl Morris- An investigator in the SFPD who was partnered with Andy Trudeau. After Andy's death, Darryl finds out about the sisters secret and helps them to keep it under wraps. In exchange, they help him out on the "freaky cases," usually those that are demonically related. "Not to sound paranoid, but after all these years, I think I've earned the right..." (Darryl, Wrestling With Demons, 1.14).
Deflection- the ability to turn aside or shun another power.
Demon- An evil being whose goal can vary. They are often controlled by the evil triad or council. Many do not look human, and cover this up by using a human form. Examples: Belthazor, Demon of Illusion, Libris, Judge "Free Willy" Hamilton
Demon Training Academy- A demonic school where humans forced or tricked into a Faustian (see Faustus) deal are made into demons. They are tricked by a person called a recruiter. They progress through levels. A full graduate has 6 chevrons branded on their arm. In order to go from 5 to 6, the trainee must kill an innocent. (3.12)

F
Faustus- Or faustian deals, etc. In reference to a novel called Dr. Faustus. A faustian deal would be selling your soul for some sort of earthly gain, i.e. wealth, having your debt payed off, etc. After death, your soul would belong to the demon you struck the deal with. (3.12)
Four Horseman- The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse: War, Strife, Famine & Death. They each have the greek letter omega tattoed on their necks, the mark of the annointed ones. Their goal is to bring about the apocalypse, or the end of the world. They do this by encouraging fighting and disease, all the evils of humanity. There have been different teams through history, some getting closer than others. If the current team does not bring about the appocalypse, they are vanquised by the source, and a new team is annointed.
Freezing- Pipers ability, the power to freeze people and objects in time. (1.01)

G
Grimlocks- a type of demon that preys on children. They kill good people by viewing the persons strong aura, but the only way to view this is to steal the vision of an innocent, a child. (1.19 )

H
Hat Trick- Phoebe uses this phrase in Heart break City: "Hey, if only I'd bagged Mr. Creepy, we could have scored a Halliwell hat trick last night." Hat trick is a hockey term referring to a player who scores three goals in a single game. (2.10)
Human Forms- Some demons have "human forms." They are able to mask their demon selves and look like a person. This allows them to walk freely among humans and get closer to their targets than they would be able to as demons. There are strategies used by witches to trap demons- Pipers freezing power does not affect many demons, but they can overcome that by pretending to freeze, as Cole does in episode 3.01. (3.01)
