Kale Bala

Kale Bala is a Gypsy band from the village Czarna Gora in the Tatra Mountains region in Poland. The name means "Black Hair". Its leader is Teresa Mirga, a poet who writes in both languages: Romany and Polish. Interestingly the Karpathian Gypsy music style is very different from the very characteristic style of Gorale, or Polish Highlanders, who live in the same region. One can compare the music of Kale Bala with that of Trebunie Tutki, a band from Bialy Dunajec, only a few kilometres from Czarna Gora.
