Czas Folku
The 1990's were a time of growing interest in folk music in Poland. It was very much like in the West: young people from the cities, usually educated, travelled around villages trying to find old musicians who knew how to play in the local style. The young people learned the style and adapted it for the city stage. The mechanism is the same but the style is, for obvious reasons, very different from the Western folk. The literary magazine "Czas Kultury" dedicated several issues to the Polish folk scene and published compilation CDs titled CZAS FOLKU.
Below are links to pages, where some of the musicians featured in Czas Kultury are presented.
