Kiriko Taiko Information

Wajima Kiriko Taiko group is an amateur group based in Kawai town, Wajima city. The group is made up of members from all around the Noto peninsular including Hakui, Suzu and Togi. The group practices weekly, and is open to anyone wishing to learn. Weekly practices take place at Wajima Cultural Hall rehearsal rooms. Current members include elementary school, junior high and senior high school students as well as professionals working on the Noto. The group performs at various times throughout the year though the main time of activity for the group is during the summer festivals, particularly Wajima Taisai (big festival) held at the end of August each year when the members get to put into practice all they have studied during the year. Anyone with an interest in taiko rhythms and looking for a healthy workout is welcome to join the group.
