Part 2: Now in the state of South Australia, we head
towards Coober Pedy, an underground town. We had a town and opal mine
tour, pizza for dinner, we went 'noodling' (aka opal fossicking or mining),
and we stayed in an underground hostel. Very 'different' indeed. With
stops in Woomera (rocket range), Wilpena Pound (quoted as the 'jewel of the
Flinders Ranges'), small towns such as Hawker, (a stay in Quorn), and Clare
Valley, and an overnight stay in Parachilna, a town with a population of
five, the second half of the trip was just as interesting as the first--be
it with less rocks. Apologies if I missed any pictures you wanted--I have
space limitations. E-mail me
if you have any requests.
